Its because you are using the Dropbox App - that is a read only app. You need to download and install the full client from www.dropbox.com/downloading. This will create your Dropbox folders etc.
-
I'm afraid if you are using File Uploads there is no way to stop this. A work around would be to use a Shared Folder with the other person, or, them to upload everything as 1 zip file which you then unzip and get everything out of.
-
Is this using Dropbox requests?
-
To what @"Kb58" ?
-
At a guess if the reboot fixed it then Dropbox either wasnt running or had crashed for whatever reason. Try a reinstall to see if that helps and just keep an eye on it: www.dropbox.com/downloading

I dont believe there is @"Leafchild", sorry. In terms of albums they are a depreciated feature now so there is no way of moving everything over quickly and easily :(

@"Chadbrad" wrote: for just accessing a preview. If so then that just defeats the purpose of the preview, as it allows to see contents before downloading them. Thats, sadly, how the whole internet works. Anything you view is downloaded to your device - in the local cache folders. You cannot get around that.
-
Hi @"Chadbrad" This is really going to depend upon your locality. However, in theory, I'd imagine you will be OK. It would be logged that you accessed the file (well, rather the IP would be) and if the police wanted to do so they could request info on who did access it. But I imagine it will also show how long you stayed…

They will need to do as the message says - download the file (as they dont have Dropbox). They can do that by tapping on the menu option to download or you can force it to download when they click on the link instead of previewing.

500 errors are usually not website ones but ones on your machine. Have you tried opening an incognito browser window and trying that
-
Have you tried just going to www.dropbox.com/plans and upgrading from there What error messages you getting?
-
As long as its a link and not a shared folder with any edit functionality (as you need an account to edit files) you can do so without an account. However, you MAY get popups asking you to join Dropbox. Tell them to just tap X at the top right or click ESC to get rid of the dialogue box - they may need to resize screen /…

There are limits, always has been - until recently it was 15 minutes! The videos are only a preview. They are not designed to be watched in entirety on Dropbox. How about exporting to Vimeo?
-
If you upload via the website it should just replace the existing file. I use Dropbox on my computer and just file -> save as or drag and drop the file to replace it and all is good.
-
Yes, simply replacing the file with an identically named one will update the file for you without altering the link :)
-
If you havent installed Dropbox then you cant do what I said above, thats based on you installing Dropbox (as its designed to do) so that you can simply work on the files/folders inside of the Dropbox directory. What you'll need to do now then is go to www.dropbox.com/home, go to the directory you want and if you want…
-
You would simply go to the folder on your computer and drag/drop in to iPhoto (as you would from any other folder), or, do file -> Open in iphoto and open them that way, again, as you would any other.

You need the newest versions of iOS installed to get the 'Files' app

I'm afraid it has to be merged - that is the thread its being discussed and monitored on. Another thread isnt going to be seen or change anything as it makes it look like its only you on about it. I have tweaked the forum heading slightly though to make it more obvious what it is now. Also, I'm afraid the forum software…
-
Yes it will - even if you have deleted them from Dropbox it wont re-upload :) [This thread is now closed by moderators due to inactivity. If you're experiencing a similar behavior, feel free to start a new discussion in the Dropbox Community here.]
-
Yes it does :)
-
The website is only ever intended as a preview and for best results it needs downloading, but, you could try logging a ticket with support with examples of the links/files to www.dropbox.com/support and then track at http://dropbox.zendesk.com
-
Are you using the API?
-
Its possible that the folder structure is very close to the limit on their machines, but, you are over ever so slightly due to a different name maybe (e.g. your My Documents folder name therefore being longer), or, just your Dropbox in a different location.
-
Sounds like actually the file folder directory is too long. Windows has a limit on directories of about 250 characters (i.e. 'C:\My Documents' is 15). If it is longer than 250 then they cannot be opened. Try renaming some of the files/folders to a shorter naming structure and you should find they open fine :)
-
Its currently in close beta. If you are part of the beta you will be able to install it via a pop up on screen when you go to http://paper.dropbox.com
-
Hey @"Nemanja604" Do you mean you can access both accounts via the computer or website at the same time? If so you are fine - they are not connected in any other way. It is simply a way for the software to allow you access to multiple accounts in one safe place. You can split them if you want, but, then you can only access…
-
Send in the details to support with specific examples: www.dropbox.com/support And then track at http://dropbox.zendesk.com
-
It has only done it because you've told it to @"MasterC" - its turned off by default. However, its easy enough to change. Simply alter the 'Camera Uploads' setting.

Nothing here.... Which version of Dropbox you on? Is it a standard install with no symlinks/junctions etc. and on your main internal hard drive?
