I have removed all emails as if not you will be massivley spammed. It is never a good idea to post emails on a public forum. In terms of not getting the space my guess is that they are on same network which can trigger spam detection issues. I assume each person installed on to a unique computer (as that is also a…

Are they on the same network? Or, using a device that has already had Dropbox installed?
-
I'm afraid as the emails said that if you didnt get the files below quota the deadline set the files are not recoverable. Even if they were you only have 30 days of recovery for free users which would take you to May.
-
They keep getting a message that there isn't enough storage space available to upload the files One of two things. Do they have enough space in their account? Shared folders use up the quota of both people - so they will also need 40gb of free space. Secondly, less likely, but, do they have enough hard drive space? Why…

You need to log a ticket at www.dropbox.com/get_help and ask if they can stop future payments for you.
-
Sounds like the multiboot may be an issue - sometimes it does create new instances, just click on the 'Sign out of some devices' link on the email and remove the old ones then you'll be good to go :)
-
I am unaware of a "deleted" folder. How do I find that? Nancy has already linked to them in her post: Are you able to see this folder at your Deleted files and/or Events page and restore it from there?
-
That's a very, very old version, and I'm guessing it cannot connect as it's been deprecated. The current version is 254.4.x Try updating manually from www.dropbox.com/downloading. I'd also suggest adding all of Dropbox to the whitelist of Kaspersky as my guess is that is blocking the updater running.
-
There is no native feature within Dropbox for this. You would need to find and use a thirdparty application to do this I'm afraid.
-
You go to www.dropbox.com/plans and then it will work out how/what you need to pay. It does it automatically for you
-
You'd just pay the difference.
-
Yes you can - as I said on your initial post you just upgrade and you'd get credit back for the plan you already have.
-
What I mean is a direct link to a totally separate file, ie. one that isnt and never has been on the website
-
Sorry, not sure what you mean? If you have Pro you would need to upgrade to Professionals or higher, but, you can do that at www.dropbox.com/plans which would pro-rata any credit rebates owed back to you.
-
It isnt available on Plus, no. You need Professional or higher. See this thread for discussions around it.
-
but they also cause latency when we try to open them directly. Does it also do it on new links which are not hosted on websites?
-
Dropbox doesnt delete files that quickly if you are over quota, it takes months for it to happen - and after lots of warnings. On the account you are on can you see anything on Events showing the uploads etc.? Im wondering if you actually have two accounts by accident
-
You have to navigate right into the subcategory you wish to post under before it will appear - it's on the right side of the page. Or, when in a post you can see it on the right side above 'Featured Links'
-
Pleased you got sorted. You can always share it to your main account and delete the new one if needed. Just in case anybody else reads this, Dropbox cannot just create a new account, it has to be done by the end-user, but, if you are like me you often dont read the screens and popups!! :)
-
Your first one to say that, so, if you generate a file that you arent hosting somewhere (if you are) and put it in to an incognito window it doesnt work? Have you ran any traceroutes?
-
I think there is an issue with that build: see here.
-
What does www.dropbox.com/events show? My guess is that when you accepted the invite to the share you actually set up a second new account and so all your files are on the orginal one. Edit based upon follow up post: Seems like my Dropbox Plus account has been downgraded to the free version. I did not initiate this You…
-
Which version of Dropbox are you using?
-
Which is why I asked the question. Sounds like something is being blocked then when people are using third parties to share and access files. This is the sort of info though that they need rather than just 'it isnt working'.
-
So is there a better plan that we can pay for but save some money ?? No there isnt. All the plans available to you are the ones you see on the upgrade screen.
-
Is it possible to merge them into one account? If so, how do you do that? No it isnt I'm afraid. But the work around is to use a Shared Folder to move the data between the two accounts - i.e share a folder from the account you dont want to the one you do. Move the data over and then, if you want, delete the old account.
-
Do your links work if they are NOT being used for websites?
-
Do your links work if they are NOT being used for websites?
-
Again though, that means that its being used as a hosting platform and tool - which it isnt intended or designed for. Do your links work if they are NOT being used for websites?
-
How can this problem, which is currently very disruptive, be resolved? Have you tested a link which isnt hosted on your website? I.e. just share a file and use an incognito window to test if it downloads - make sure its incognito so you arent logged in. If that works then the issue is the fact you are using it for hosting…
