Which version of Dropbox and iOS are you using?
-
I was charged $119. Its worth just pointing out that Dropbox, like every company, cannot charge people unless its given the details to do so. OR, somebody has stolen your card details. So if you have a charge you've given them your details at some point usually as part of a free trial forgotten to be cancelled.
-
The only record of them would be at www.dropbox.com/events BUT if its over 180 days since deletion then that list is cleared. Dropbox support dont have any records other than that either. Two possibilities I'm thinking: I am just wondering if you have been over quota at all? If so Dropbox removes files to bring you back…
-
It's too bad I can't reach someone at Dropbox, but not with my "basic" membership I guess. Even if you could I actually suspect they'd send you back to the developer I'm afraid - as the issue isnt with Dropbox per-se it is a third party product.
-
I am wanting to upload to someone else's dropbox without using my account Is it a Shared Folder? At a guess thats what you mean. If so then this isnt how Dropbox works. Anything at all that is visible at www.dropbox.com/home uses your quota. So uploading 5 GB into a shared folder uses 5 GB of space in both accounts, even…
-
Hi Thanks for pic :) What does www.dropbox.com/account/plan show? Have you also looked at www.dropbox.com/backups/all? Note I've never ever known the quota be wrong.
-
Why just delete? Could it be due to that really really irritating pop up asking you to confirm deletion maybe?
-
Thanks @denniscmerritt I am really clutching at straws here, but, wondering if Dropbox is locking the directory while some sort of sync is taking place OR if the files are not actually downloaded. I have my Camera Uploads directory also set to have everything offline but often find, in this directory in particular, it…
-
Is XnView a program that works locally (i.e. its deleting from Camera Uploads in Finder) or is it an App?
-
Dropbox doesnt work on weekends so, this was obv a website technical issue which resolved itself. Woop!
-
How long ago did you last access Dropbox? Files are removed after 12 months of inactivity - but after lots of warnings this happens. What is www.dropbox.com/events showing?
-
Hi @Aleppoo This already happens! Have a look here for last month's winner :)
-
Ok it's just odd that the other quartet members are not getting that message. There quota must be higher - either via referrals or other means (they could even be paid members). Your quota is already over the base level (which is 2gb) so you have been referred in, others may have done the same to get extra space. If there…
-
So the shared folder (Two Rivers) is what is full and using all your quota. There is no way around it bar getting more space, or, asking them to put less in the share. Alternatively if you just need readonly access as for a shared link instead.
-
So, that shows that your quota is 2gb but you are using up 2.5gb (bar 1mb or so) within shared folders. So either you have more than one shared folder OR the files in it are not 300mb. Note that you may only see 300mb of files in your Dropbox if the next file added takes you over quota. Once you are over quota syncing…
-
You're right it shows my quota is two gigs. But it should also show you how much its using it. Can you post a screenshot of what you see. When I click to show all files it only shows that folder so I don't know what else makes up the 2.2 gigs. Have you looked at the Backups link?
-
That link should show your quota. Note that shared folders use the quota of everybody in it. So that means everything at www.dropbox.com/home will use up your quota.
-
How can I see what is making up the 2 gigs it says I have stored. Go to dropbox.com/manage/subscriptions to see what makes up the quota. You may also need to go to https://www.dropbox.com/backup/all which will show if you are using any Backups as well.
-
Who creates the link for this? Is it a Dropbox one or Perplexity? If its Perplexity I'd ask them directly as they are the ones who've made the integration etc. However, one thing to check first is you linked the right account - you should be able to see connected Apps in the Admin area.
-
No backup codes You will have had them. Have you tried searching for them? You cannot activate 2FA without agreeing you've downloaded the files. Could a Dropbox staff member escalate this to the account recovery team? Previously there has been instances of it not being recoverable, it is possible this is the same scenario.
-
I am on the basic/free plan. Would this mean that I am able make multiple workspaces using the same email? Would this also give me 2 GB storage in each workspace, or would it be 2 GB across all workspaces? They've not announced it yet; however, I am almost certain that it will be paid accounts only, as there is, at the…

You can leave shared folders youself by following this guide here.
-
These disappeared files are shown at the event folder. How can I have my files restored? Have you followed the instructions I gave above and looked here for help? Note this will only work if they were deleted within the last 30 days - assuming you are a free user. If its over the 30 days they are not recoverable.

Which version of Dropbox are you using?
-
I don't think he has more than 4 GB of photos to upload. I put 95 pictures in that folder it they only consume 178 MB He does if that is the error. It will stop and not allow sharing as soon as it goes over.
-
When a friend tries to add some photos to a shared folder Dropbox tells him I am out of storage space The amount of photos he is trying to add is bigger than the quota you have free. So, it is over 4.45gb or so (as thats what space you currently have free). Shared folders use up the quota of everybody within the share. If…

What is www.dropbox.com/events showing? You can restore deleted files from there, or, by following this.
-
Which version of Dropbox are you using? If you mouse over the icon on the status bar it should tell you.
-
how are we supposed to reduce our accounts back down to the size they were before the duplications took place Dropbox doesn't duplicate the files on its own. Something on your machine / linked device is doing that. You may get a clue at www.dropbox.com/events; however, you'd need to manually decide what a duplicate is and…

How long ago did you delete the backup? It can take a few hours to update.
