The Dropbox icon in the system tray doesn’t have the green tick any more, so as long as it’s white, it’s considered ‘fully synced’. The lack of green ticks on your Dropbox folder however is concerning. It could be to do with the 15 icon overlay limit in Windows, or it could mean that the app isn’t running correctly…

Hi there, is the Dropbox desktop application showing any error messages when you open it from the system tray? Are there any green icons on the files in your Dropbox folder on either computer? Any info you can find out would be great!

Glad you were able to resolve it so quickly, and for getting back to me on this! Have a great week ahead!

Hi there, the thread was closed since it was old and most users had the issue resolved. I've moved your thread in here to keep the topics together and reopened the thread for a short time.

Hi Liam, are you referring to tasks on Paper? If so, currently this isn’t possible on Dropbox. You can only create events with a specific date on it, and not a repeating event. I’ll pass that suggestion onto our team however for their consideration in future!

Hi there, we’re assuming you’re referring to the iOS Mail app, not the Mac OSX app. Have you installed the Dropbox mobile app, and does the Dropbox folder appear on the Files app on your iPad? If not, could you confirm what version of iOS you’re running on the iPad, and what version of the Dropbox app is installed? Thanks…

Just an update, the stable version is out now with the fix itself, so you can already follow my previous steps to get back onto the stable build flow.
-
Glad to hear it’s working now! Generally updates in the beta make their way to the stable version, unless there were further issues or more testing needed. It should automatically upgrade to the stable version the next time, however to be certain of this, when the next version is installed on your machine, uncheck the box…

Hi there, thanks for your query about the activity logs. Currently there isn’t any official documentation about how to read the information in the logs, or to output it in a specific format. Depending on the issue though, we might be able to assist with what to look for in the logs. Could you let us know more details about…

Hi there, as we don’t officially support the Mint distro, we can only really provided limited support on this matter. I assume that you’ve already tried an advanced reinstall on your machine?
-
Hi Andy, I moved your post into this thread to keep similar requests together!

Hi there, we’re sorry to hear about your frustration on this matter. I’ve forwarded this information to our dev team to see if this can be amended for future upgrades to the desktop app. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for the clarification. Since RAM and CPU usage are closely related, could you check out the possible symptoms of the excessive RAM amounts in this article. Let us know how it goes! Mod note: edited to update link in post [last updated 2022]

Hi there, if you’re using Smart Sync, and your files are online-only, then they shouldn’t be taking up any space on your device. Could you let us know more about this matter with a screenshot showing the space on your computer and why you believe it’s affecting it? Thanks!

Hi there, it’s possible that the anti-virus might have updated its rules for access if there was a recent upgrade. Check your settings in Avast to ensure it’s working fine. Another possibility is that a proxy, VPN, firewall, or even ISP/router issues that could be restricting traffic to the Dropbox domains. Let us know…

Hi Richard, could you confirm that the files have the green tick icon when they appear in Explorer? Does this only occur for files in a certain folder, or does it occur throughout the account? Could you try temporarily quitting the Dropbox desktop application to check and see if this happens when it isn’t running. Let us…

Thanks for the details, could you ensure that the Dropbox and Excel apps are fully updated via Google Play?
-
Hi Mick, how were you editing the files previously? Did they open in the Dropbox app, or in another app on your Android? Were you accessing the files via the mobile app, or on the Dropbox site directly? Let me know so I can assist further!

Hi Blain, sorry to hear about this. Those instructions refer to the registry, which is only found in Windows machines and not Macs. Could you try the steps in the following article to completely uninstall Dropbox and to also close any open processes prior to doing so? Hope this helps!

Thanks for getting back to me on this matter. Have a great week ahead!

Actually, the OCR works like your wish. You don't need to physically be in a doc to search it. You can just conduct a normal search through the website or mobile app, and provided it was scanned by the mobile app, it will detect that text and bring up that document in the search results.
-
Hi there, firstly, I’m assuming you’re using this on a mobile app associated with a Dropbox Business plan, or a paired personal account. Are you scanning the documents using the built in scanner in the Dropbox mobile app? If not, then it won’t be able to detect the letters since the OCR function only works on docs scanned…

Thanks @"Mark", I've merged the threads together to keep the discussion in one location!

I understand how you feel. If there was another option I would’ve let you know, but the only method to have your data stored on an EU server is as I mentioned previously.
-
Thanks for the confirmation, I've sent you a message to that address. Please check your emails or spam folder and reply there with the info I requested!
-
We’ll need to look into this further, since there is definitely a shared folder within that parent folder you want to share. Would it be okay if we reach out to you at the email address associated with your Dropbox account to assist further on this matter?
-
Hi there, data stored in Dropbox is located in the EU and US. We continue to offer to host business customers’ files in Europe if they choose this option however the personal data that is entrusted to us is protected equally under GDPR whether it is hosted in Europe or the US. Currently the ability to store files on our…

Hi there, most likely there is a folder within that folder which is shared. Even if it is only shared with one person (i.e yourself), it is still technically a shared folder. Could you navigate within that folder to see if any folders have the two person icon, like so? Afterwards you can unshare the folder completely and…

Hi Donald, a shared link to a file in your Dropbox is special in that it will ‘follow’ the file. If you move the file to another location in your account, overwrite it with another file or the name name, edit it, and rename the file, the shared link will stay active. This is because each file has its own unique ID, so…
