Hi there, if you’re referring to displaying a file as it appears in your Dropbox account via a shared link, then you can do so by renaming the dl=0 to raw=1 in the link. This way the PDF gets rendered as the PDF, and should be treated as such. If you’re referring however to accessing the file via the Dropbox API, let me…

That’s correct, files will sync to the site and then to another connected devices. If you don’t have enough space on a computer, say a laptop with limited storage, then selective sync can prevent entire folders from syncing down to your machine. Let me know if this info helped out!

If by resharing you mean giving the people the shared link again, then yes, they’ll see the new name of the folder at the top of the link. Just like if you update files in the link, and they refresh the link on their end, they’ll see the new updates to it there.
-
Most likely then it’s the parental controls that are preventing the app from loading without requiring the administrator password. If there’s a way to disable certain apps from being affected by the controls, you’ll need to check with Apple to see if this is possible.

Hi there, the location can be different on different devices. It doesn’t need to be the same between computers. Hope this helps!
-
Thanks for the info, if they’re shared links, renaming or moving the folders to another folder in Dropbox won’t break the links. There are however three instances where the link is broken: * Deleting the link itself by doing so from the folder settings * Deleting the folder or files associated with the link * Moving the…

As you haven’t clarified if you’re creating shared links, or shared folders, I can’t give an answer yet. Both of them are radically different. The shared link is available to access, even if they don’t have a Dropbox account, and is a read-only link, they can’t edit files in that link. The shared folder requires that the…

Hi Ashley, it sounds like the issue is similar to this article. Are you able to make any changes from here that might help? Keep me posted!
-
Hi Nicholas, if this is the case, and you’ve already rebooted your machine completely, then you might need to try an advanced reinstall of the app and prior to installing, delete the local Dropbox folder. However, you can copy those files to another folder on your machine and later copy them back into your Dropbox folder,…

Hi there, the Dropbox desktop application can’t be run as a service on a server, without the assistance of a third party app. It does need to be run within the computer profile, which needs to be signed in consistently for the files to sync. I’m sure that there are some other users on the forum that might be able to…

Hi there, when you refer to links, do you mean shared links, which are URLs that can be accessed from a browser even when not logged into Dropbox, or are you referring to the files in the folders themselves? Just so you’re aware, renaming a shared folder will do nothing for anyone else, since only you can see the change.…

Hi Ron, if you’re referring to this app, then that is an official Dropbox app, which works like the mobile app. This means there isn’t a Dropbox folder, and instead allows you to preview files on your account without any live syncing. If you want to upload files, you need to do it manually in that app. This is an option…

If you’re dragging a folder onto the Dropbox site, then technically you are creating those files online for the first time, hence the modification date would be now. If instead you moved the folder into the Dropbox folder, assuming you have the Dropbox desktop application installed, you’ll keep the original dates, like I…

Thanks for the info, let me know if this occurs again!
-
There should be a difference between the two notifications. I’ll forward this feedback to our dev team for their awareness of this matter.
-
I’ve forwarded your comments to our dev team in order to investigate this matter further. In the meantime, if possible, you’ll need to return to the stable build of Windows in order to get the Dropbox desktop application syncing again.
-
The steps to upload images manually can be found here. Let me know if this is successful!
-
The installer logs should be visible in either one of these locations: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Dropbox\installer\l %APPDATA%\Dropbox\installer\l Copying and pasting them into File Explorer will take you directly to that location. Perhaps you could post a small section of that log, excluding any personal info (locations etc)

If you’ve returned to Windows 1803 or 1809, and you’re still unable to install the Dropbox desktop application, did you try all the steps in my previous post with the advanced reinstall? Do you still get the same error message?
-
Hang on, I’m noticing a pattern here. Before we take this to email, if you’re all running the same version, namely Windows 1903 from Windows Insider, then this is not currently a fully tested or supported environment for the Dropbox desktop application. From the articles I’ve checked out, it seems that the 1903 update will…

In order to investigate this matter further, @"protoror", would it be okay if we message you at the email associated with your forum profile?
-
Hi @"protoror", make sure when you run the installer that you don’t right click the installer and ‘Run as administrator’, otherwise you’ll experience issues later. Are you installing on a work or home computer? Have you tried temporarily disabling the antivirus software to ensure the installation progresses as normal? Any…

Hi Alasiah, most likely you were just outside the 14 day trial, which is why you were charged. I can see that you have already submitted a support ticket. I’ve prioritized it to expedite matters on your behalf. [This thread is now closed by moderators due to inactivity. If you're experiencing a similar behavior or have a…

Hi Raquel, currently it isn’t possible to move or merge Dropbox Paper docs with normal Dropbox folders, though we are looking to improving the integration between the two different systems. I’ll add your comments to the requests sent to our dev team for their awareness.

Thanks, just a few more queries here:* Do you have another app that backs up or edits your photos? If so, what’s the name of this app? * Are you able to manually upload images from the Dropbox mobile app to your account? * Does the Photos tab show any photos or videos attempting to upload?
-
Hi there, could you confirm the exact settings you have for the camera uploads? There’s options for it to upload when not low on battery, and so on. A screenshot showing these settings would help! Thanks in advance.
-
Hi Kishan, this appears to be a generic Windows error message. The first thing I’d recommend is to ensure that your Windows installation is fully updated to ensure this isn’t something that was fixed previously. Secondly, try an advanced reinstall of the app to clear any old installation attempts. Let me know how it goes!
-
If it is still syncing, then it means that it isn’t up to date yet. I’d recommend waiting until all your files have finished syncing before attempting to open those files. If it doesn’t stop syncing, try an advanced reinstall of the app to see if this resolves the issue.
-
If that’s the case, would it be okay for us to reach out to your email address associated with your forum profile to assist further on this matter?
-
Is it visible in the menu bar or system tray, as per this article? When you hover over the icon, you’ll see if the app is syncing or up to date.
