Hi @"spenceraday", it depends on where the D:\ is located. Is it an external or internal drive? If external, it is (more-or-less) permanently connected to your machine? When a computer fails though, there’s always a chance that connected drives, internal or external, are affected, so just being on an external drive doesn’t…

No worries, I’m glad we managed to sort this out! Enjoy your week ahead. :)

To look into this further, would it be okay if we reach out to the email address associated with your forum profile?
-
If somehow both the C:\ and D:\ are syncing to the same Dropbox account, we’ll need to investigate this further. Would it be okay if we reach out to the email address associated with your forum profile?

Okay, do any of them have the blue syncing icons? Are you able to navigate through the folders to see those files? Are they in a specific folder, or randomly in your account?
-
Could you clarify if the shorter links you’re referring to are the shared links themselves? Namely, https://www.dropbox.com/sh/8hyjz7fb2323423324t/AACUsdfsdhddP_9kda?dl=0, as in the example above. Only those links can be accessed by people not logged into your Dropbox account. The other links,…

Are you not able to see the sync icons on your files in the Dropbox folder? If so, could you try the steps here to bring them back? This will help you determine which files are not syncing fully.
-
Are you able to navigate your folder structure to see where these files are located? Are they all in one folder, or scattered randomly in your folder structure? Are the files being accessed by another program or virus scanner? Could you try quitting all open applications to see if this helps to let the files sync?
-
Hi Kaspars, could you try checking out this article for possible reasons why the CPU usage rises when syncing files? Generally, symlinks is the primary reason, so I’d recommend checking step 7 first. Let me know what you find out!

If this is the case, then you should be able to delete the C:\ folder. If you’d prefer to be cautious, try renaming the folder in C:\ and see if the Dropbox desktop application brings up any error messages.
-
If there’s a lot of files in your account, it might still be copying the files over. Can you confirm if the folders are both the same size? Also, what does the Dropbox desktop application say for the current folder location?
-
Hi Jack, if the Dropbox folder on drive D:\ has all the sync icons there, and the old folder on C:\ doesn’t, then you should be able to safely delete the folder on C:\. Also, you can confirm in the Dropbox desktop application itself to see what the official location of the Dropbox folder is. Hope this info helps!

Thanks @"tequejas", I’ve amended it now, we’ve recently changed the domain for the Help Center, so the link should point to the correct location.
-
Thanks for the links and images. I’ve edited the links to random ones, and removed the images for your own privacy, since editing out the private details would make little sense to anyone else. Regarding your query, from the screenshot, the shared link doesn’t seem to point to the same location that you have on the folder…

Hi there, when you’re opening the shared link, what browser is opening up for you to view the images? Is it opening within Excel? Could you try switching browsers to see if this helps? Otherwise, use incognito/private browsing mode without any extensions running, clearing your cache and even resetting your browser…

Thanks for the feedback regarding the progress bar on the Dropbox desktop application. In relation to this matter, I’ve forwarded this information to our dev team to make them aware of your comments. [edit - 29th March] As an update to this thread, I've received confirmation that the 'time left' prompt has been removed…

Hi Sandra, aside from the events page, it isn’t possible to determine who created a folder or file on your account, at least from the general files page. The version history of a file does show who added or edited a file, but you need to access it manually to see this. If the Dropbox Business team is on the advanced…

Hi @"EMay", iOS 12.2 is a beta version of the software, which isn’t currently supported until it becomes a stable version, so any issues with the Dropbox mobile app can’t be troubleshooted. Were you experiencing this on the stable version of iOS 12.1.4?
-
Hi Sabrina, could you try an advanced reinstall of the app to see if this brings the option back on your device? Keep me posted!
-
Hi @"eddiejag", I’ve merged your query into this thread since another user had the same question. Would be possible we can reach out to you, and you @"mcfinney", in order to investigate this further? Thanks!
-
Glad to hear you were able to resolve this matter!
-
How large is the folder you’re trying to upload? Are you able to upload folders with fewer files, or smaller sized files? Any info you can provide would be great!
-
Hi Roger, could you try switching browsers to see if this helps? Otherwise, use incognito/private browsing mode without any extensions running, clearing your cache and even resetting your browser entirely. Let me know how it goes!
-
No worries, have a great evening!
-
Is this the only file you’re trying to sync currently, or is there more than one recently changed file? Are you prioritizing the syncing of the file in question?
-
Hi @"cbarberjust", are you on a Dropbox Professional or Business plan? Only these two plans have Smart Sync. You can check which plan you’re on from here.
-
Hi there, if you hover over the Dropbox menu bar icon, instead of the progress bar, does it show the time remaining for the files to sync fully? Keep me posted!
-
Hi Gary, enabling 2FA only affects your account when you login to it. It doesn’t affect users who are members of your shared folders, since they would technically be different accounts. Hope this helps to clarify matters!
-
I’ll forward this suggestion to our dev team for their consideration as a potential improvement to the service we provide!
-
Hi Kelly, currently it isn’t possible to see the number of times a file has been opened or downloaded. If the team admin has enabled viewer info on files, then you’ll be able to see which members of your team have viewed files in shared folders. Hope this info helps!
