Thanks for the info, I missed out a > in my code, I’ve edited the post.

Hi @"DGMaritime", thanks for posting on the Community! Currently, there isn’t a way to print off a direct folder/file structure of your Dropbox account via the site. There are workarounds, however, when using built-in functions on your OS. I know of a Windows method using a simple CMD prompt. Testing it here, the command…

In order to see if this is related to the actual installation of the app, if you’re not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected, could you try an advanced reinstall of the app? Let me know how it goes!

Hi @"Goopguy", thanks for posting! Currently, the only way to make the Outlook add-in work is by following the previous steps from @"outwardspiral" earlier. We do appreciate the feedback about the requirements for the add-in!

Hi @"Darrow", thanks for posting on the Community! If the person needs to login to view the file, then you most likely have shared a file or folder to their email directly, so they need a Dropbox account of their own to view the files. Instead, you could create a shared link to the file so that they can view the file and…

Hi @"gm2020", could you let me know if you tried all the steps in that article to see if it helps reduce the CPU/RAM usage of the Dropbox desktop application? Keep me posted!

Hi @"Tony_Shedlight", thanks for posting in the Community! Currently, the maximum limit for downloading files via the site is 20 GB. The Dropbox desktop application can be used to download files, but only if they are in your own Dropbox account, since they will sync down to your machine. If you don’t have the quota on your…

Hi @"adrianp74", since these instructions were provided prior to the 3 device limit on Basic plans, we wouldn’t recommend users unlink if they have more than 3 devices connected just to change the computer name. Currently, there isn’t another way to change the name on the computer, since it does register the name when the…

Sorry, I got confused as the previous reply was for downloading a folder! If you don’t have any folders selected, then you should see an option to create a new folder on the right while on the Files page: If you’re not seeing that, please let me know!
-
Hi @"craiglandarchLA", the website has changed since that image, now there should be an ellipsis on the right when you click the folder, like so: From there, you can download the folder to your machine. Hope this helps!

Glad that I could help out, Rick! Enjoy the rest of your week. 🙂

Since you moved the files to a different folder, most likely it has fewer characters in the folder names so the filepath is much smaller. Could you try copying one of the original files to a directory two folders above its current location, and see if they open fine? Rrgarding resyncing, You can try moving the folder you…

Could you check the full filepath, to ensure it isn’t longer than 255 characters from D:\ all the way up to and including docx? Windows has an upper limit of 255 for files, and 218 for Excel files Keep me posted!
-
Hi @"Rick R.6", thanks for joining the Community! Regarding this matter, the \\?\ could indicate it’s on a network drive. Are you using any network drives on your machine when moving and copying files across, or are these all local drives? When you say that the files were downloaded, was this manually via the site, or by…

Hi @"Michael V.33", welcome to the community. Are you able to export the file to Keynote directly instead of opening it via Keynote or the iOS Files app? As you’ve mentioned this is happening for large files, I’m assuming that smaller Keynote files work fine? How large are the files that you’re experiencing the issue with?…
-
Hi @"RAL37", welcome to the community! This notification means that files were deleted from your account. Since you said you ‘removed most of Dropbox’, did you actually delete the files from the MacBook in question? If so, the deletions would have synced to the site and deleted from there and all other connected devices,…

In that case, it's possible that the Office 365 subscription expired, leading to this message. Have you managed to get in contact with your admin to look into this matter further? Let us know what you find out!

Currently, there isn't an option to search for a filename specifically while you're on the deleted files page. Since this isn't possible, I can suggest this to our dev team for their consideration to implement something like this in future to improve the usability of the site.
-
Hi @"EllKay", we're sorry to hear about this. It sounds like you've recently joined a paid Dropbox Business team, which does require a paid subscription to Office 365. On a free or paid personal plan, there's no need for a license, which is why it's worked up until now. In this instance, you'll need to contact your team…
-
Hi @"arigoldfilms", sorry to hear about this. If you search for a file using the normal search bar, it will first locate all files that already exist on your account. If you scroll down, you'll get to the 'grey' files, which are deleted files. You should be able to locate the file from there, unless it was possibly on a…

No worries, let me know if you have any further issues! :)

No worries, glad to have helped out!

Hi @"noku", thanks for the info. Could you forward a screenshot of this error message? Does it also give you an error log in the blue text? If not, it's possible that some files or folders have different permissions because they are using symlinks, which could have different permissions. You can check if you have any on…

Hi @"Jonathan M.5", are the files being accessed definitely not in any shared folder? What types of files are being opened? Are they in the same or similar locations (as in, part of the same parent folder)? Have you opened them via the Dropbox desktop app from the icon in the system tray/menu bar? Are you perhaps using the…
-
Hi @"Dan_", it's still possible to do so. While on the files page, you can click 'Show deleted files' on the right to show any deleted files, while still viewing your file structure. If you just want to see deleted files, then you click the link on the left. Hope this helps!
-
Glad to hear it’s working again! Let us know if you experiencing this issue again. :)

Hi there, could you try installing the Dropbox desktop application again to see if this repairs the context menu? Otherwise, try uninstalling the app and installing it again using the above link. Let me know how it goes!

If the Files app isn’t updating with the latest version of the file as it appears in the Dropbox mobile app, then this would be related to the Files app itself. There isn’t much we can troubleshoot here since the integration is handled through that app. You can try deleting the Dropbox mobile app, rebooting the device, and…
