I understand why you can’t share it, no worries. One last thing I’d like to try is if this behavior occurs with any PDF file you have, or just this one in particular when you add annotations via Preview.
-
If you’re okay with doing so, could you forward a shared link to the PDF in question so I can try and download it here. If this isn’t possible, let me know if I can message you at the email associated with your forum profile. Thanks!

I’ve tried a few attempts here and can’t duplicate what you’re experiencing. The only possibility is that the file you’re opening after downloading is somehow not the same copy as the one on the Dropbox site, and that it’s opening an older copy, or that the downloaded copy is overwritten with the older version. Could you…

There are a few reasons as to why the app could be running slow, such as invalid permissions, having more than 300,000 files on your account, and others. This article about high CPU usage should give some info if you’re interested in looking into this in future if you decide to link the app to your account again.
-
Could you forward a screenshot of the Preview app you’re using to add comments, and also a screenshot of the PDF file on the site showing the comments themselves. If possible, try to hide any personal details or info in the screenshots!
-
Can you try opening the PDF file in a different app to see if the comments are visible there? Is it possible that Preview app when opening the PDF isn’t showing the comments by default for some reason?

Since this is more of how Excel works, there isn’t much I can advise on how to resolve this. In general though, if the Excel file is located here, c:\users\jay\dropbox\finance\report.xlsx then that is the absolute link. The pivot table could refer to a file located in c:\users\jay\dropbox\finance\booking.xlsx, again an…

Hi @"jma2", thanks for joining the Community! When you say you were using Preview to edit the file, are you referring to the Mac app itself, or the new Dropbox desktop application? How do the comments appear on the Dropbox site? Are they using the Dropbox commenting feature, or are they comments inside the PDF itself? If…
-
Hi @"KW6", thanks for joining the Community! This would be expected since the pivot table appears to be referring a specific document only available on one user’s machine. Depending on how the link was made in Excel, it could be directly referring to a file and its entire folder path, which won’t be the same on another…

Hi @"eyescream", thanks for joining the Community! Just to confirm here, deleted files do not take up any space on your Dropbox account online. If for some reason you’re still low on quota, then it’s possible you have a shared folder that is taking up the remainder of your space. You can leave the shared folders using…

Hi @"chinarut", thanks for joining the Community! Regarding your query, currently we only official support Ubuntu and Fedora for Linux installations. As per the system requirements, the full desktop app needs the following: * GNOME shell (may need the TopIcons extension to get the tray icon) * Unity * GNOME Classic * XFCE…

Hi @"vikioviki", automatic camera uploads from an Android only work on files in the camera roll and screenshots folders, so if somehow the GoPro videos are saved them, then they should upload. Let me know how it goes!
-
No worries, keep me posted with any updates!
-
If you’re not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected, I’d recommend trying an advanced reinstall of the app using these steps. Let me know how it goes!
-
Hi @"Donya O.", thanks for joining the Community! I sounds like the Dropbox desktop application is trying to update, and needs these permissions to do so, but it’s possible that another app or service is preventing the update. Are you running any apps that could interact with the Dropbox folder in some way, that could…

Glad to hear that you found the extension which caused this issue, @"joelandamber"! Enjoy your weekend!

Most likely there is an issue loading the rest of the pages in Chrome, as it worked fine in another browser. In your original image the other pages are shown as the dot shadows, which would indicate this. Try disabling the extensions and plugins in Chrome to see if any of them are affecting the page loading.
-
Hi @"joelandamber", thanks for joining the Community! We’re not experiencing this issue here when testing with a multipage PDF. Could you try switching browsers to see if this helps? Otherwise, use incognito/private browsing mode without any extensions running, clearing your cache and even resetting your browser entirely.…

Hi @"CBCBH97", thanks for joining the Community! Currently it isn’t possible to change the location of the Dropbox cache folder as it’s needed there to let the Dropbox desktop application run normally and cache files during the syncing process. Hope this helps to clarify matters!
-
Hi @"jrockel", thanks for joining the Community! When you have selected multiple files, click the ellipsis button on the right hand column, and then you can move the files to another folder on your account. Hope this helps!
-
Hi @"klueken", thanks for posting on the Community! Internet Explorer 11 is supported to access the site. Could you forward a screenshot showing what you see on the page on Internet Explorer? Keep me posted!

Hi @"Jeffg2", while I’m not familiar with the file types used by Paperport or File Center, these files could be important to the functioning of File Center, so I’d recommend making a copy of them just in case. On the site, you can click the checkboxes for multiple files on the left of them, and then on the right, click the…

Hi @"mangeshkunkule", thanks for posting on the Community! When you are viewing docx files via Dropbox, do you get that same option as you see when viewing it via Sharepoint? If not, when previewing the file on the Dropbox site, try clicking the Open button at the top near the Share button, and then click Microsoft Word to…
-
Hi @"curlSloth", thanks for posting on the Community! If you downgrade you account for whatever reason, Dropbox will not delete your files no matter how much overquota you are. All that will happen is that files will stop syncing for the time you’re downgraded to a Basic plan. Hope this helps to clarify matters!
-
Hi @"BD9", thanks for posting on the Community! Could you confirm that you’re sharing folders with your friend? Do the files appear on the Dropbox site for both you and them on your own accounts? Keep me posted!

Glad to hear you were able to get assistance from the support team, @"VWP424"! Enjoy the remainder of your week!

Hi @"Ady88", thanks for posting on the Community! It sounds like you were shared a folder to your account. As you’ve noticed, shared folders do take up quota on all active members’ accounts. If you only need access to view and download the files, you can ask the owner to create a shared link to the folder using the steps…

I just tested it on our Android device, and holding my finger on the screen allows to me select text while the docx file is previewed in the Dropbox app. If you do the same, what happens on your device?

Hi @"Computeruser76", thanks for posting on the Community! If you are concerned that LAN sync is not distributing files quickly through your network, please keep in mind a couple of things. LAN sync does not begin for individual files until the file is hashed and fully synced for the first time in the host machine. Once…

Hi @"richarduttley", thanks for joining the Community! When you sign into the forum, it would use your current Dropbox account to login, so if you were logged into your Dropbox Basic account, then it would use that one. In order to earn free quota, you need to earn the Mighty Answer badge, of which more details are found…
