Hi @"captjoe777", thanks for messaging the Community! It sounds like you enabled the automatic computer backup feature in the Dropbox desktop application. Could you first try disabling the computer backup from Dropbox using the steps in the above article to see if this helps? Afterwards, you can move the folders and files…

Thanks for the feedback on this matter, @"demafleez"! I'm happy to hear you were able to pause the syncing on your device. Enjoy your week!
-
If you're not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected, could you try uninstalling the mobile app, rebooting the device, and reinstalling it to see if this helps?
-
You can try and see if the files were deleted so you can recover them. Otherwise, try checking the version history on one of the .icloud files to see if the full file is in the history.

Hi @"92cafe", thanks for messaging today! It sounds like you could be experiencing this issue on your device. I'd recommend checking out all of those possibilities to see if they could be the cause. Let me know how it goes!

Shared folders will always sync changes from the site to everyone's accounts, regardless if the person is in edit or view only mode, similar to how Dropbox syncs files from one machine to another.
-
Hi @"smarta1", thanks for posting on the Community! Are you trying to upload files to Dropbox directly using the Excel app, or via Office Online? Keep me posted!
-
Do you have any camera uploads or manual uploads running in the background of the mobile app? Are there any other apps on your device that connect directly to the mobile app via the iOS Files app, which could be keeping the Dropbox app active? If so, could you try quitting those apps completely to see if this helps with…

Hi @"demafleez", pause syncing should still exist in the Dropbox desktop application. There's been a recent change in the newest 105.4.651 version, so could you try updating to that version to test this? To pause syncing, can need to click the Dropbox icon in the system tray/menu bar, then click the message in the bottom…

Since it looks like the ticket is with a specialist team, only they would be able to assist further on this matter. I've prioritized the ticket to expedite matters on your behalf.

Thanks for the clarification. Assuming this is a shared folder, and not a shared link to a folder, then their folders would update with the latest changes automatically. They should get a notification in their OS (if they've enabled it) to tell them a file was updated.
-
Thanks for the info, I'll forward it to the appropriate forum for the team to assist further.

Hi @"camillerb", thanks for joining the Community! I'm sorry to hear about this situation. According to our system, I can see you were able to contact the support team directly regarding this matter, and they were able to resolve it for you. If you require any further assistance, please let us know!

You can try downloading each file and folder manually via the Dropbox site to your computer, however, it does seem like iCloud has made these changes, so it might persist even after putting files back into the Dropbox folder. Is there no option with iCloud to download the files from their system, or to disable that feature?
-
Hi @"Walter H.11", thanks for messaging today! If you've enabled the long file paths, then you shouldn't have any issues with syncing, so you wouldn't need to identify those files. The unlikely situation is if you install the app on a Windows machine which doesn't have the long file path fix implemented. If you do need to…

Hi @"rharper58", I’d recommend getting in contact with our support team directly to look into this matter in more detail. You can do this by opening an incognito/private browsing window, while not signed into your account, and accessing this link. From there you should be able to contact support. Make sure to enter the…

You too, @"QC35black"! Enjoy the remainder of your week!
-
Hi @"QC35black", thanks for messaging today! It sounds like you might be on a paid plan that uses Smart Sync. If the tick is solid, the it means the file or folder is synced and 'local' on the machine. The green outline is only for folders on your machine that have some files inside it which are local and online-only using…
-
Hi @"JMMSM", thanks for messaging the Community! Since the user wasn't a part of the shared folder, they wouldn't have the ability to see any version history prior to the folder being shared. However, anyone who had access to the original file from before (i.e. yourself, or anyone else if it was in a team folder), would be…
-
Hi @"johnWang", thanks for posting today! It sounds like there might be an issue with the connection itself. Could you try switching browsers to see if this helps? Otherwise, use incognito/private browsing mode without any extensions running, clearing your cache and even resetting your browser entirely. If it still doesn't…

Hi @"kdave", thanks for messaging today! Shared links don't have an expiration date by default. However, if you're on a Dropbox Professional or Business plan, then you can set an expiration date so that after a certain date, the link will no longer be accessible. Hope this helps to clarify matters!
-
Hi @"slaxton", thanks for joining the Community! I'm sorry to hear about this. It sounds like the file that you're referring to seems to be a file generated by iCloud. It's possible that iCloud generated a placeholder of the original file when you moved it to iCloud originally. If this was the case, the placeholder file…

Thanks for the update. I've looked into this matter further, and per my colleague previously stated, any camera photos of any size saved in PNG format will not appear on the Photos tab. Screenshots, however, which are generally saved as PNG and uploaded automatically by the camera upload feature, are included on the Photos…

Could you try resetting your Dropbox password to see if this helps with logging into your account on the mobile app?
-
Thanks for the info, @"Small Systems", @"paxos". I'd recommend contacting the support team directly for further assistance on this matter, as they'll be able to investigate in more detail.
-
Hi @"rharper58", does the Android device meet the minimum requirements for the Dropbox mobile app, namely running Android 6.0? . Keep me posted!
-
Are there any similarities at all to the images that aren't appearing on the Photos page, such as dimensions, or where they're saved from, or any specific metadata on the files?
-
No worries, @"waldbach", glad to hear you were able to locate it! Enjoy the remainder of your week!
-
Hi @"waldbach", do you see the little bar when you try to drag it between folders, and not as a subfolder on the sidebar? What exactly happens when you drag it there?

This information regarding the small png files is known to Dropbox. The automatic camera backup prevents the potential for thumbnails to be uploaded. Manually uploading the images, however, means that you choose to upload the images, so they will appear on the site. Currently, it wouldn't be possible to change the behavior…
