It seems to be that way, the only common thing is the name, since their folder should be called 'Drop Box', with a space in it. Have you checked the article to see if you can disable it, or make any changes to that folder via the Mac OS itself?

Hi @"Romf", the option to automatically convert images to JPG is only on the automated camera uploads setting, as @"Rich" said. When you manually import files, they are uploaded as is, meaning they would be uploaded as HEIC files. Hope this helps to clarify matters!

Hi @"Gentleman Manatee", thanks for joining the Community! Do you want to relocate your Dropbox folder onto the external drive itself? Are you more interested in having files on the external drive sync to your Dropbox account, which already has a Dropbox folder on the internal drive? This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"kviavattine", is the public folder a smart folder in Finder, or a normal folder? Are you certain this is the official Dropbox folder, and not the Mac-specific Drop Box folder?
-
Thanks for the ticket ID. I can see that this is with a specialist team who are better placed to look into it further. I'd gone ahead and prioritized it to expedite matters on your behalf.
-
Hi @"Monumental", @"SECRETSOUND", I'd recommend contacting the support team directly for them to investigate this matter in more detail on their end. Once you get a ticket ID from the automated response, please let me know the number here so I can locate it in our system!

Okay, it looks like only the mobile app is installed on a phone. What is the file path you're seeing in Explorer? Are you able to move files out of the Dropbox folder directly?
-
If that's the case, then it sounds like you haven't disabled the computer backup feature fully. Can you see if any devices are still linked to your account from here?
-
Hi @"glaw21", could you clarify what you mean by your laptop only having C:, but Dropbox being located on E:? Is this an external drive? Symlinks to other locations wouldn't work with Dropbox, and instead only the link itself would be copied.
-
Try removing the device from the site so that it is no longer linked to the account. Could you attach a screenshot showing the Properties of the Desktop folder showing that there is no Location tab?
-
Since it seems to be the method in which Safari is downloading or exporting the page, there isn't much I can suggest since it doesn't appear to be related to Dropbox. You can try contacting Apple for further assistance on this matter as they are the developers of Safari.
-
Hi @"Lena Ling", thanks for joining the Community! Are you referring to the previewing of the file from the Dropbox site, or after downloading the file? Does the file appear normally when you view it in your native video player on your computer? This will help me to assist further!
-
The image indicates that most likely the shared link wasn't sent to the correct email address. Could you confirm that you've added them as a member when viewing the shared link settings?
-
Hi @"Larsn", just to check, is the Dropbox desktop application disabled according to the desktop app? Have you already uninstalled the app? Does the device appear on this page?
-
Hi @"scotto", you can check out my post on how having your Dropbox folder stored on an external drive could cause data loss. It should contain some useful info there.
-
Hi @"evaag", are you on the latest version of Mac OS and iOS on your devices?
-
Thanks for the reply, I'd recommend contacting the support team for further assistance on this matter. They should be able to investigate this in more detail.
-
Hi @"widensteynie", just to clarify something, deleting files normally automatically frees up space, so there isn't a need to permanently delete files, since the space has already been freed up. This is only needed if you don't want to be able to recover the files. You can permanently delete files in a shared folder you're…

No worries, @"G_W_H", if you have any further queries in future, please let us know!
-
Thanks for the info, keep me informed of any changes!
-
Hi @"G_W_H", currently, we can only officially support Ubuntu and Fedora installations of the Dropbox desktop application. Even though your OS is Ubuntu-based, we wouldn't be able to support it directly. In relation to your issue, there is a possibility that a proxy, VPN, security software, or even ISP/router issues could…
-
Hi @"Stasik", if you're still experiencing this issue, please could you contact the support team directly for further assistance. They should be able to investigate from there on.
-
Thanks for the ticket, I've replied to your message, please could you reply as soon as you get a chance.
-
Hi @"Melin1", there doesn't appear to be a ticket under that number, could you check it again? @anna_lamky, when was the last time you logged into that Dropbox account? Was it recent, or over 12 months ago?
-
If you're not getting the notification on either of those devices, since they were logged out, then it means that you won't be able to use it to regain access to your account. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
-
Hi @"DolphinGenius", could you try unlinking the desktop apps from the site, which will then allow you to delete the backups from the site.
-
I'm still not sure what you're seeing, since the only way to see this information is when you're logged into your account. Could you attach a screenshot showing this page where it said you last logged into the account on the two devices?
-
Hi @"babajoeboy", if you've uninstalled the app already, could you try the steps in this post to see if they help?
