Hi @"ExasperatedUser", the steps you provided are correct for editing Word files on your account. You wouldn't even need to save manually, since Word would autosave every few seconds. The file doesn't need to be in a shared folder, it can be in a private folder. Just to clarify, the edit option you're mentioning is the…

Hi @"ronaldlarue3", thanks for posting today! If you're not able to edit using an installed version of Word, you should be able to edit the files via the Dropbox site, which will open Office Online for you to edit files. If you need any further assistance, please let me know!

Hi @"RayH", what OS are you currently running on your device? Do you have any extensions or plugins running on your Safari browser which could be blocking the site from logging in?
-
Hi @"Anne-Marie a.", thanks for messaging today. Could you confirm the version of the Dropbox desktop application you're running? You can do this by hovering your mouse over the Dropbox icon in the system tray or menu bar. This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"Thom A.", to ensure that you're on the stable version, make sure you've followed the steps from @"Rich". Afterwards, you can install the current stable version from this page.
-
Could you let me know how you shared the file? Was it inside a shared folder which you then shared? Did you instead share the file directly to someone else's Dropbox account? Lastly, did you create a shared link for people to view it on the Dropbox site? If the previous version from 9 months ago turned up, then it means…

There is a possibility that a proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router issues could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains. Could you try checking each of these to see if they could be causing this behavior?

If you're not seeing the previous version of the files on the events page, then there's a few possibilities as to why this might be the case: * The file was on another Dropbox account * It was on a shared folder you don't have access to any more * The file was deleted outside of the 30 day period * The file was permanently…

Hi @"kamado-tanjiro", I'd recommend getting in contact with the support team directly for further assistance. They'll be able to investigate from there on.

Hi @"stolan2", do you have any third party apps that might monitor the Dropbox folder in some way, which could be causing this delay? Have you tried temporarily quitting the desktop app, moving one file to a different location, and then seeing if the issue persists which the app isn't running?
-
Hi @"wiza", if you're not seeing any version history, then it means that the file was recently created, and a previous version of the file was deleted from the site entirely. Do you see any history of the file being edited in the events page?
-
Hi @"Ganache", thanks for bringing this to our attention. It sounds like you enabled the automatic computer backup feature in the Dropbox desktop application. Could you first try disabling the computer backup from Dropbox using the steps in the above article to see if this helps? Afterwards, you'll get the option to move…

Are you downloading files from the same shared link, or from different shared links at the same time?
-
Hi @"MigrateSound", the middle click is a standard shortcut in most browsers to open links in new tabs, and isn't restricted to the Dropbox site. You might have an alternative if using a different type of mouse which doesn't support middle clicking, or you might be able to configure a new shortcut in the browser settings.

Hi @"ken48", could you try switching browsers to see if this helps? Otherwise, you can try using incognito/private browsing mode without any extensions running, clearing your cache and even resetting your browser entirely.
-
Hi @"dedectivmonk", is this related to Google docs, or some other feature, such as a file request link?
-
Hi @"Filip H", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Currently, there isn't a feature to resume interrupted uploads via file requests. Shared folders would be more reliable since the files are directly synced to the site. However, the shared folder would take up quota on their account as well, so they'd need enough…
-
Hi @"RuffValruff", thanks for bringing this to our attention. How large is the size of the folder with the images and videos? Do you have enough space on your own Dropbox account to add the shared link there? This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"darh", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Camera uploads on iOS devices no longer uses location services to keep the Dropbox app active in the background. Have you tried disabling camera uploads and re-enabling it to see if this helps? This will help me to assist further!

Hi @"Kbelle", thanks for posting today! This feature to create an external sharing report already available to team admins of Dropbox Business teams on the Advanced or Enterprise plans. You can also create an activity log in the admin console to view general activity. If you need any further assistance, please let me know!
-
Hi @"emiliendurif", this would be related to another issue. If you're not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected, could you try an advanced reinstall of the app using the steps in this link?
-
Hi @"Lexyg", thanks for posting on the Community. In the Family plan, all users technically have their own accounts, and only one folder is automatically shared between all members, and that would be the Family Room, which can't be deleted, moved or renamed. Apart from that, no other folders are shared between members,…

Hi @"maxjax800", in the screenshot, there doesn't appear to be a file extension, like mp4. Is there one on the original file? Since the file is also 0 seconds in total, it's possible that the video was corrupt or filed to save.
-
Thanks, I've gone ahead and contacted you via email. Please could you reply to it as soon as you get a chance!
-
If you delete a folder inside the shared folder itself, then it would be deleted for all members of the shared folder. The folder could then be recovered from the deleted files page within 30 days of the deletion.
-
Thanks for the info, in order to look into this matter in more detail, would it be possible to reach out to the email associated with your forum profile?
-
If you delete the files from Dropbox, they'll be deleted from the Dropbox folder as well. If you want to keep them safe, you can drag the files out of the Dropbox folder to another location entirely, so they remain on your computer. The files would also be deleted from the account once moved out of the Dropbox folder.
-
Thanks, it looks like you're running the Apple silicon edition of the Dropbox desktop application. Are you viewing these files inside the Dropbox folder itself?
-
Hi @"Vitamin Bread", have you added no-reply@dropbox.com to your contacts list? Could you try unfollowing and then following it again? Keep me updated with any progress!
-
Hi @"IsaacGaz", have you tried deleting the Dropbox cache folder in the Dropbox folder? What do you see if you right click and choose Properties on the Dropbox folder itself in Explorer, instead of via third party apps?
