Hi @"sendyjasmine", are these files that have previously worked in the past, or new files that were recently created? Were they created via the Dropbox site itself, or copied across from Google Sheets?
-
There is something affecting the configuration of the Dropbox desktop application. Could you attach a screenshot showing the permission error message you're receiving? Also, regarding the greyed out upload buttons on the site, are these for shared folders or private folders?
-
Hi @"Segothic", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Since you're creating a shared link, are you certain that the correct users have been invited to the link itself? Are there any additional permissions added onto the link? This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"WonderingAboutThat", thanks for bringing this to our attention. If you're looking to completely remove the Dropbox desktop application, try following the steps in the advanced reinstallation article. Up until step 4 should be the last step you need to uninstall the app entirely, anything after that is to reinstall the…
-
Hi @"myan", could you clarify how it would connect to another computer with the app installed? Where would the app sign into?
-
No worries, I'm sorry to hear that they don't have the original copy. If you have any further questions in the future, feel free to let us know!
-
No, if they're experiencing this issue, then the video itself should be corrupted. Do they not have the original copy of the video on their machine somewhere?
-
We wouldn't be able to preview the files on our end, for security and privacy purposes. There are two possibilities here, either your computer can't play the files due to codec issues (meaning, it literally cannot translate the audio and video into a playable video), or the video itself on the site is corrupt. Since the…
-
Do you have the necessary codecs to preview the file? Since you're seeing the Dropbox icon, it means that the video can't be previewed on the site. Does switching browsers help at all?
-
Hi @"Scottpbrown", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Could you try using a different media player on your machine to preview the file itself? Does the file play normally on the Dropbox site from the link you got originally? Keep me updated with any progress!
-
Hi @"Quitt", what @"Rich" said is correct, file transfers on Dropbox Professional plans have a maximum of 50 GB per file. The only option if you want to do it via Dropbox at this stage would be to upgrade your account and add it via the shared folder.
-
Hi @"blakorpheus", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Have you used Hellosign or Dropbox Sign before now? Could you check if the domain name of the email sender matches one of our official domains? This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"InvertedPilot1", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Just for clarification, is this the first time you've logged into your account after 10 years? This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"StuartN", could you clarify what you mean by having your client's primary Dropbox login? Are you referring to their login credentials for Dropbox itself? Are you using VNC or other remote manager software, or a VM? Do you have any proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings that could be…

Hi @"ahmed" Asghar, I’d recommend getting in contact with our support team directly to look into this matter in more detail. You can do this by opening an incognito/private browsing window, while not signed into your account, and accessing this link. From there you should be able to contact support. Make sure to enter the…

Thanks for the info. At this point, I'd recommend you get in contact with the support team directly for them to investigate this matter further on their end.

My recommendation would be to not migrate the Dropbox app, or the Dropbox folder itself, since that usually causes permission issues even today on the older version. On the new Mac, you can reinstall the app from the site, sign into the app, and then let the files sync down from the site.
-
Hi @"mnp22", out of curiosity, do you have a third party mouse or tablet connected to your Mac, or are you using VNC or another remote management software to access your device?
-
Is the Photos library missing entirely, or is the app itself saying that it can't be stored where it is, and needs to be moved? This thread might have information helpful to you.
-
Hi @"Mark E.29", are either of the new devices on the new version of the Dropbox desktop application for Mac OS? That version no longer supports LAN sync. Have you opened up all the ports required for the Dropbox desktop application to work normally? Are you using any proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even…
-
Hi @"1623990", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Could you try following steps in order to see if they help? * Disable Dropbox from the Files app from the Locations tab. * If you're not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected, sign out of the Dropbox mobile app. * Uninstall the Dropbox mobile…

Hi @"SparshMittal", I'd recommend having these domains whitelisted, and these ports. Keep us updated with any progress!
-
Hi @"Babelle2023", all files in the Dropbox folder are stored on the Dropbox site, assuming that the Dropbox desktop application is running and fully synced, and that you haven't enabled selective sync. The online-only feature means that files don't take up physical space on your computer.
-
Thanks @"kenterickson", I've moved your post to the API forum for further assistance on this matter.
-
I'm glad to hear that it seems to be working for now. Just to clarify, when it said 'choose a Dropbox to save to', do you have a Dropbox Business team linked to a personal account, so you had the choice to upload to either account?
-
Thanks for the info, @"Gary ******", we appreciate the info and have noted it on our end to look into.
-
No worries, glad to have helped out on this matter. If you need any further assistance in the future, please let me know. Enjoy your week ahead!
-
Hi @"Gordodrop", thanks for your message. As the current promotional offer with Lenovo is for 6 months, the expiry date for the offer would be the 5th August 2023. If you have any further queries, feel free to message back.
-
Hi @"Heather11", thanks for bringing this to our attention. It sounds like you might have upgraded to the new Dropbox desktop application for Mac OS. You can confirm this by checking the location of the Dropbox folder and seeing if it's in CloudStorage. Due to the change, Apple no longer allows Photos Library to be stored…

Hi @"fssbob", thanks for messaging the Community. To prevent any unexpected behavior, we'd recommend allowing the Dropbox desktop application to sync the files from the site directly when migrating to a new Mac. If you have any further queries, feel free to message back.
