Hi @"Lawjamesq", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Are you referring to the Dropbox desktop application wanting to upload files in system folders due to Dropbox Backup? Or, do you mean you have multiple files already in your Dropbox folder are trying to upload? Any other info or screenshots would be helpful!

Hi @"MajorHavoc", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Currently, the supported file systems that are supported on Mac OS for Dropbox Backup are HFS+, APFS, exFAT, and FAT32. There isn't any official workaround for these supported file systems, so if another user does provide one here, we would recommend caution when…

Thanks for the input, I'll add these comments onto the support ticket, as I believe at this point it's best for them to investigate further on their end, as it appears to be account-specific.

Are you on a work network or personal internet connection? Is it possible to create a file request link from a completely different network connection? If you have a colleague or friend with a Dropbox account, do they experience the same issue when creating file requests on their own account?
-
No worries, glad to have helped out! If you have any further queries in the future, please let us know. Enjoy your weekend!

Okay, and just for clarification, creating a file request directly on the Dropbox site in another browser or in incognito mode without any extensions running still results in the same incorrect URL being created, or just a blank page Do you have any proxy, VPN, firewall, or even ISP/router settings that could be…

Hi @"zthornbury", thanks for bringing this to our attention. To resolve this issue, I am going to provide you with steps to reset the Dropbox application settings. This will not affect or remove the files in your Dropbox folder. First, please save and quit all programs accessing files in the Dropbox folder, and then follow…

Could you clarify what you mean by 'connected to Make'? Do you have any browser extensions running that could be amending the URL? Could you try using a different browser, or in incognito mode without any extensions running when creating the link?

Hi @"lucidity", thanks for the ticket ID. I can see it's been forwarded to a specialist team who are still investigating this matter. Once they have any more info they'll respond to your email directly. In the meantime, as we've not received other users with this same behavior, do you have any anti-virus, security software…
-
Have you contacted your boss to find out why they have invited you to join the team? This would merge your account into the team itself, is this what you want in order to transfer the files across?
-
No worries, glad to have helped out! Let me know if you have any more questions in the future. Enjoy the rest of your week!

No, there aren't any sync icons on files or folders outside of the Dropbox folder itself. You'll be able to see if the backup is synced from the backup site, where it will show a green tick.
-
Hi @"Dentsville Masonic Lodge", the storage should be updated immediately. If it isn't, then it means that your account is still overquota. When you say you removed them from the shared folder, did you delete them entirely, unshare the folder, or moved them to a private Dropbox folder instead?

The Dropbox Backup feature is different to normal Dropbox syncing. On external drive backups, files can only be directly added, edited and deleted from the computer, as it is a one-way sync. Making changes on the site would revert those changes and adding a file on the site would create a conflicted copy.
-
Hi @"shinbeth", thanks for your message. The Dropbox Backup external drive feature works by syncing any changes when the drive is connected, and then once every hour while the drive is connected. If you have any further queries, feel free to message back.
-
Thanks for the update, I'm glad to hear that you were able to login to your account. Enjoy the rest of your week!

Online-only files should always show the physical file size of zero bytes in Finder and Explorer. If they showed the logical size, then this would be considered not normal behavior. Only files available offline would show the size of the file on the disk.
-
Do you have autosave enabled on Excel, or are you saving files manually?
-
Hi @"battiman", if a file is online-only, it means it doesn't take up any physical space on your machine, so it's normal behavior for the file to be zero bytes? In order to understand what you're expecting, please let me know what you wish to see for files not physically taking up storage on your computer?
-
Hi @"512kilobytes", thanks for your message! When you install the Dropbox desktop application, you'll get an option to select the folders you want to sync before the installation is finished. You can later change these folders from the selective sync settings when your app is up and running. If you have any further…
-
Hi @"wayneferro1", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Are you referring to signing out of the Dropbox mobile app so that it's no longer linked to your account? Are you able to sign back into the account? This will help me to assist further!
-
Selective sync is only used to prevent folders currently on your Dropbox account from syncing to your computer. It can't pull folders from outside the Dropbox folder. Using any form of alias, symlink or junction point to get outside folders into Dropbox isn't supported and would result in this behavior.
-
Hi @"teddyferent62", thanks for messaging the Community. Currently, it isn't possible to store the Dropbox folder on multiple hard drives, or split it into different folders for those to be on other drives. Other drives can't be made to upload into the Dropbox folder itself, however, there is the external drive backup…

Hi @"elhdesigner", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Could you try adding no-reply@dropbox.com to your inbox in order to see if you can receive the email when attempting to sign in again? Are you writing to us now on the Community from another account? This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"superheroEK", thanks for messaging the Community. Could you clarify what you mean by the Dropbox embedder? Are you referring to using the API to access Dropbox? This will help me to assist further!
-
How are the images displayed on your account on the Dropbox site? Do they appear in folders on the files page? The album feature is no longer supported on Dropbox, so this would mean that you can't access them any more, which is why I'm checking where your images are stored.
-
As it is a third party app you're referring to, and not the default Finder window, I'd recommend getting in contact wit the developers of that app for them to look into this matter in more detail on their end.
-
Hi @"Robert F.41", thanks for your message. As this is related to the Mac OS system, we wouldn't be able to provide any specific recommendations. However, I'll leave the thread open for other users to contribute their suggestions!

Hi @"Meladono", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Are you referring to folders in which you have images, or the old Dropbox album feature? This will help me to assist further!
