Hi everyone, could you attach a screenshot showing what you're describing, and the options you get in the context menu when right clicking the icon.

Hi @"STaber", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Just for confirmation, trying to disable the backup for the iMac, from the iMac itself, results in the same message? This will help me to assist further!
-
@"m_o", do you have any devices that are currently logged in with that email address in order to transfer your files out of the account?
-
Thanks, we appreciate any feedback on how to improve the Dropbox service, and we take all comments into consideration.

@"fssbob", as you can't exclude folders during the migration, the safest option to prevent permission and syncing issues would be, on the old machine, to disable any computer backup, sign out of the Dropbox desktop application, delete the Dropbox folder, and then progress with migration to the new machine. When you then…

Hi @"BG Mahesh", if you want to reactivate the backup feature on the old machine, you can do so in the Preferences. Installing the app on the new Mac will sync any files from this page onto the new Mac. Bear in mind that the computer backup files from the old machine won't appear on the new machine. @"fssbob", we do…

Hi @"ChickenDuck", currently it isn't possible to open password protected files in the Dropbox mobile app. Do you not get an option to 'Open with' and then choose the Excel app via the ellipsis when previewing the file?
-
Hi @"nishdes", are you able to recreate the old email, or temporarily reactivate it to see if you're able to receive the security code to login to your account?
-
Have you recently changed this setting in the admin console about top-level editing?
-
Hi @"karkness", keep us updated with any changes. What file types are you trying to open on the mobile devices?
-
Hi @"Anthro Admin", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Are you creating the folders while on the main Dropbox page, or while logged into the admin console? This will help me to assist further!

The computer backup is different to the normal Dropbox syncing process. The computer backup is just that, a one-way backup to the site that updates whenever you add files in those folders you've selected. They will be visible on the site alone, and can't directly be synced to the other machine, unless you download them…

As it sounds like you still have the old machine to hand, I'd recommend disabling the backup first, and let it finish returning the backup folders back to their old locations. Once that's confirmed, you can sign out of the Dropbox desktop application, and then begin the migration process to the new machine. Signing into…

Thanks, I've sent you an email, please could you reply to it when you get a chance!

Hi @"cloudres", this numerical estimate appears to be correct, assuming you have a fixed rate (with nothing else affecting the connection), then it would be possible to sync 2.4 GB in 4 minutes at 10 MB/s. If it turns out to be longer than that, then your internet connection is being affected by usage elsewhere on your…

Hi @"BG Mahesh", in general, we don't recommend using migration programs as they can affect the permissions and settings in Dropbox desktop application on the new machine. Did you disable the computer backup feature prior to the migration, so that the folders would've been in their default locations on the new machine?
-
Hi @"danclarkis", could you try reinstalling the app, without uninstalling it first, by using this link, and let me know how it goes!
-
I'm from the same team and have the same information as her. At this point, to find out what is happening to your shared links, the support team would need to look into it in more detail.
-
Hi @"tdcazemle", you can copy the the screenshot and paste it into the reply box directly for it to be attached.
-
Hi @"ThomasKronevald", thanks for the info. I'd recommend contacting the support team directly for them to investigate this matter further.
-
Hi @"HelpMee", in general, files larger than 20 GB can't be downloaded over the site, and would result in an error. As you mentioned you have a paid account, are these files in your own Dropbox account, or shared link sent to you by another user?
-
Hi @"pablopaul", could you clarify exactly how you're copying the files and what program or app you're using during this process?
-
Hi @"elizabeth13", it looks like you're on a Basic plan with no trial, meaning you haven't entered any card details here. Did you instead upgrade via the Dropbox mobile app? Do you see any payments or invoice sin this page?
-
Hi everyone, could you clarify the exact steps you're taking to create a shared link? If you're on a Dropbox Business team, could you also clarify that your team admin hasn't enabled settings to prevent shared links from being visible outside of the team?

The Dropbox subscription doesn't include any Microsoft subscription on it, or any Adobe subscription. You can, however, edit Office files via the Dropbox site using Office for the web.
-
Could you try accessing the backup directly from this page for PC, and this page for Mac to see if it helps?
-
Hi @"elliothamer", thanks for messaging the Community. Currently this isn't possible on the Dropbox site, since users can have different locations for the same folder on their own account. If you have any further queries, feel free to message back.
-
Hi @"thomla", thanks for messaging the Community! Are you referring to the paid Microsoft 365 account, or just using the web versions of the Office apps via the web? There are some apps that can connect to Dropbox which will allow you to convert PDF files to Word. If you have any further queries, feel free to message back.

The Backup feature is a separate system and doesn't show up in the Dropbox folder itself. Were you able to free up your quota from your account after disabling the backup?
