Could you attach a screenshot of the error you're getting in the Dropbox app when you're not connected to WiFi and you're trying to preview (not edit) the offlined file?
-
If the file is opening normally on the Dropbox app, but not the Excel app, it could indicate that Excel isn't trying to download the file for some reason. Do you have any proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains?

Hi @"khaleeq96", I've merged you with this thread for users with similar issues.
-
Could you try offlining a file first to see if it then opens in the Excel app when you go to edit it?
-
Hi @"Chris956", thanks for bringing this to our attention. What iOS version are you running on your device? Likewise, could you confirm the versions of the Dropbox mobile app and the Excel app on the iPad? This will help me to assist further!

Hi @"miniman", thanks for bringing this to our attention. While there isn't a method to do so, as @"Rich" suggested, if you need to make all files online-only, you could right click the Dropbox folder and then mark it as online-only. This would free up space as any local files in the Dropbox folder would return to being…

Thanks for the update. I'm glad to hear you were able to restore the location of the folder. Do you need to move any content to or from the previously backed up folders?
-
Currently, there isn't a method to create a specific type of shared link URL. The functionality of opening the link on the site should remain the same, however.
-
Glad to hear that it's working now! This is a restriction based on Windows itself, since it can't handle certain characters that Mac OS devices allow normally on their end. If you need any further assistance in the future, please let me know. Enjoy your week!
-
That's correct, although, the client doesn't have to edit it, only you do, and it'll sync fine. Changing it to a - would work. Bear in mind that even if they change it, it wont change on your end. For you to see the change, they need to fully unshare the folder, and then reshare it to you.

Hi @"tim2111", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Just to confirm, is the folder visible and added to your account on the Dropbox site, but not on your Windows computer? Does the folder name contain any incompatible characters for Windows, such as a | or : symbol? This will help me to assist further!

Hi @"Patricia Fernandes", if you didn't receive any communication from Dropbox directly, then PayPal must've refunded your account for a reason. Have you tried contacting them directly regarding this matter? Even if your account is downgraded to a Basic plan, you will still be able to access it from the site, though…
-
HI @"SausalitoDog", as the Dropbox folder is working normally in Finder, but not Adobe Bridge, it might be worth contacting Adobe for further information regarding this matter.
-
Hi @"Peter Marigold", we appreciate the feedback on this matter. We take all comments into consideration when improving the Dropbox service.

Is the file in a private or a shared folder? Are you part of a Dropbox Business team?
-
If you created a normal shared link, then there shouldn't be a login request, since the links should be visible to anyone with the URL. Is this a view-only shared link? Are you part of a Dropbox Business team, which could've changed the permissions on shared links? Could you clarify exactly how you created the link, and…
-
Hi @"Turville Wines", thanks for bringing this to our attention. If you open the shared link with just dl=0, does it open normally on the site? How are you copying the link, via the site, the desktop application, or the mobile app? This will help me to assist further!
-
The way it works is that you have two separate accounts under different emails to login to the site. One has to be a Dropbox Business team account, and the other has to be a personal account (either paid or free). When you link the two accounts using these steps, this will allow you to access both accounts in the Dropbox…
-
Did you try using the recovery words to login to your account, before you go ahead and reset the account?
-
Yes, @"Mark", is correct, one account would need to be a Dropbox Business account, and the second could be either a Professional, Plus or Basic account in order to link them to have two accounts on one computer.
-
Hi @"at0605", thanks for bringing this to our attention. When you got a refund from Apple, did they confirm that they would cancel the subscription to Dropbox at the same time? This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"peswars", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Are you sure that you've deleted any backup that is on this page on your account? This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"alice23", thanks for bringing this to our attention. The restoration of a folder can take time depending on the size of the folder. How large was the folder that was deleted originally? This will help me to assist further!
-
Thanks for the info, currently the Dropbox Invoices service is still undergoing maintenance. We have no update on when normal service will resume.
-
Hi @"Zack Smith", have you tried emailing the team at the email in the screenshot for further assistance on this matter?
-
If you quit the Dropbox desktop application entirely, and then try searching, do these ghost files appear again?
-
Since it was a PDF file, are you simply able to add the video yourself into the file? Was the prompt you saw from Dropbox, or the app used to create the PDF?
-
Are you not able to right click the ghost files in the search to determine where they are located at all?
-
Are the files located in a subfolder, or the root folder of your Dropbox account?
