Hi @"georgia100", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Are you getting this behavior on any other devices on the same network? Do you have any proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains? This will help me to assist further!
-
Thanks, keep me posted with any updates!
-
Hi @"MartyF9", are the changes visible after downloading the file from the shared link, or only when viewing on the website? Did you print the file from the site, or after downloading it to your computer?
-
Could you attach a screenshot showing the exact location of the folder you're deleting files from? Also, right click that folder and choose Get Info, and reply in your next post with that screenshot as well.
-
It should appear there, however, if you decide to reconnect it, then the system would determine it to be a different device.
-
Hi @"stephenroberts999", thanks for contacting us! You're correct in your thinking, you can delete the computer or mobile device from the Dropbox site. When you only have two devices, you'll be able to install and sign into the app on your new PC. If you need any further assistance, please let me know!
-
Thanks, from the first screenshot, you can see the padlock icon on the folder, meaning it's a read-only folder. This means you can't save or upload any files to that folder, only view and download.
-
HI @"Ryan429", could you try clearing the cache, then uninstalling the app, rebooting the device, and re-installing it to see if this helps?
-
Hi @"julio_diniz_perdigao", this question would be better placed in the Dropbox API community section, as they're more knowledgeable on this matter.
-
Hi @"EmKrcil", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Let's see if we can find out why this is happening. Could you attach a screenshot of the folder visible in the list on the Dropbox site, and the same as the mobile app (or where it should appear there)? This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"ah--", thanks for posting today with this info. Just to check, when you're accessing your signed documents, are you using the Signatures page, or the Dropbox Sign page? This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"villebillie54", do you have any proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains, namely the ones involving arkoselabs.com?
-
HI @"Roy2010", could you check what version of the Dropbox desktop application that you're currently running on your machine by hovering over the icon in the system tray?
-
There aren't really any settings to adjust basically. If a file in located and deleted from the Dropbox folder, then they will also be deleted from the site when the desktop app syncs the changes. Could you clarify exactly what you're trying to achieve? Do you want deleted files in your Dropbox folder to not be deleted…

If the Dropbox desktop application is running and syncing normally, then any files in the Dropbox folder, or in other folders monitored using the Dropbox Backup feature, would be deleted from the site when they are deleted from Finder.
-
Thanks for the info. This wouldn't affect the files on your account, and since there's no record of the files missing in the deleted files page, then there's a few possibilities as to why this might be the case: * The files are on another Dropbox account * They were on a shared folder you don't have access to any more *…

Hi @"Pdigilio", let's see if we can resolve this. Have you tried the steps in the thread, namely switching browsers to see if this helps, or using incognito/private browsing mode without any extensions running, and clearing your cache?
-
As @"Rich" said, the camera uploads feature can't delete files from the site. Did you see any recent events on your account? Do you have another email address at all which could have a Dropbox account on it?
-
No problem, generally everything can run normally, but in rare instances, some apps might affect the migration, so quitting them would help it through. Glad to hear it was successful. Enjoy the rest of your week!
-
Thanks, in that case, this would mean that they are already on the new system, so nothing needs to be changed.
-
Hi @Erwinvipglobal , thanks for contacting us! In order to understand what happened, could you let me know what you mean by you 'accidentally switched the synced and override the old files'? Are there any files in the events page on the site? Are you certain that this is the only email address you've used for a Dropbox…
-
Hi anonymous, thanks for posting today! Could you try quitting all other open apps on your computer, and then try clicking that option again in the app. Keep me posted!
-
HI @"flatpaxabia", the update should come through automatically when it is available. Otherwise, you could download it manually from this page, when you see the 192.4 stable version.
-
Hi @"Eleven01", just to clarify once more, when you say you deleted them from Finder, were the files in the Dropbox folder? Was the Dropbox desktop application running at the same time?
-
Hi @"GeorgiaS", did you create these Google docs in your Dropbox account recently, or a while ago?
-
Hi @"Helene_BisounoursDeter", thanks for messaging the Community today! Did your colleague explain where they added the comments exactly? What it a comment in the doc itself (as in, a Microsoft feature), or was the comment added onto the file on the Dropbox site? Keep me posted!
-
Hi @"notredruide", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Could you try reinstalling the app, without uninstalling it first, to see if this helps? Keep me updated with any progress!
-
Hi @"Lcestes", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Are you doing this on a desktop machine or a mobile device? What OS and version of Dropbox are you using currently? This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"Mandaluce", thanks for messaging the Community! Provided you're deleting the photos from your phone itself, and not from within the Dropbox app (or any other services connected to Dropbox), then the files on the Dropbox site would remain. If you have any further queries, feel free to message back.
