Hmm, that's strange indeed. I wonder if it's a sync issue, or perhaps a visual one. If you click on the Dropbox icon, then on your initials and then on 'view sync issues', do you see anything listed?

It sounds like you had enabled the backup feature on your Dropbox application, for the Downloads folder to have been backed up to your Dropbox. Can you take a look at this page and let me know if you can find the folder? Let me know how it goes.

Thanks @sander34! It should work, I'm testing it now on my end as well, but keep in mind that the change you can make is a bit small and it takes about a second to show. If that's not what you see, I'd suggest checking out from an incognito window or another browser, to see if you get a different behavior.

Thanks for the update, @liz0827. The thing is that with view-only links, no login is required. And if you were sent a link that allows editing, you'd be prompted to sign in to your Dropbox account, not a Gmail account.
