OK thanks for that info —- the only issue is that if I run any installer now will sync all 600,000 file in my dbx folder? —— If so that is not a viable option
-
indexing finished but the code never revertf back to the stable version —- it seem that the beta version changes from day to day — it is still ******.3.****** —— performance not and issue —— there has to be a better way to do the indexing
-
thanks for the reply —- that is what we did ——- after turning the beta option off, we downloaded the win installer and ran it —— is did ?something? hours of indexing — since the Dropbox folder is 800g with over 600,000 file —— unless there is a way to swap out Dropbox.exe for the "right one" doing another "install" is not…
-
umm … it seems that this url https://www.dropbox.com/get_help/your-account does get to the submit page
-
thanks so much with the gif —— when I click on the "get help" link in your post I land here —- what am I am
-
on the "get_help" page there is the ai chat bot —- at the bottom of the bot are my options I have the family plan —- and email is part of that plan —- does email support mean I can't start an email but have to wait for the bot to create a ticket?
-
hello can you post an screen shot of "submit a request" —- I can't seem to find it
-
thanks for your reply —— after going to item 1, there is NO PLACE on the screen with the text "your account" —- can you post a screen thatr shows an option to submit a email to support?
-
thanks for your reply —— so when I start at https://www.dropbox.com/get_help —- I don't see any text like "submit a request" —- what am I missing? is there a URL for the "submit a request" button?
-
hello —- thanks for your reply ok that link takes me to the ai chat —- there is NO url to email support —- the "your support options → compare plans" indicate that the "family play" which I have has email support —— so if there should be a URL to email support it does not exist for me
-
you need to add a "deferred start options that is settable in seconds
-
the batch file controls how I start these process and when they start
-
wow what a cop-out !!!!! When I start up my computer EVEYTHING wants to start at the same time and dropbox.exe really know how to hog up resource !!!!! it spawns 8 sub processes if you add an option to defer start up maybe let it auto start
-
thanks for your reply --- I not clear to me why support is not addressing this issue -- or at least I am not getting update in my support ticket
-
other than dbxcli is there any other way to do it maybe with switches on dropbox.exe?
-
will the process recures into sub-folders?
-
the db version is 222.4.5042 ---- not sure what has changed but when I powered up the laptop today I paused pcloud ( it was not onedrive ) and the screenshot was save to db and pcloud too --- I guess it working OK now
-
this is a new windows 11 laptop --- up to date with all patches --- I download and installed dropbox 3 days ago -- so it would be the lasts version of DB win app
-
Thanks for the reply -- I already did that --- removed the mapping for the 'prt scr' key to the windows snipping tool ---
-
so if there is no automatic way to do this the pcloud/gdrive model is a better schema
-
thanks for confirming that --- so there is no "automatic" way have the file resided only in the cloud?
-
yes --- I was able to move the files to a safe location
-
I was given a url to to the conversion myself which I did
-
day 2 -- still need a pin to open the vault
-
Hello – thanks for your reply — I already did that yesterday with 2 tickets 24843229 and 24840521. In each case I stated “clearly” stated that I still need a pin to open the vault folder. It is not clear to me why a “screen shot” was needed to answer that question. The questions that were asked to me in the chat session…
-
Ok --- it is now 3/5/2025 there is NO change --- I still need the pin to open the vault folder and support was no help in this this issue
-
thanks
-
thanks for the info
-
thaks for the info so any file save in my documents folder will be "watched" and backup if it changes ---
-
thanks for the info --- I used the ignore option before, but as you noted it would apply to the entire folder ---- I guess the manual option is ok --
