hello -- thanks for the reply -- but this line in the link --- If you haven’t been prompted to update and would like to be on the updated Dropbox Backup, you can do so by disabling Dropbox Backup, restarting the Dropbox app, and then re-enabling Dropbox Backup. is "disabling Dropbox Backup" pausing dropbox?

yes that is correct --- when I started chrome and entered dropbox.com clicked on the pad-lock in the left side of the url ---- then when to "site data" and deleted it all --- so there must have be some cached url the caused the loop --- once the data was delete I was able to get to the support page

Thanks for your reply --- this seems to just be happen with chrome ---- if I select the url dropbox.com/support I re-directed to dropbox.com/get_help and the option at the top of the page to "contect support" loops back to dropbox.com/get_help I clear the cache and that does not fix the isssue --- any help would be…

I tried numerous fixes to speed this up — at one point it seems to be stuck for over an hour stating that it was uploading 921 and downloading 833 files. I turned to Bard (the google ai) for help. It seems that the key to the solution was Dropbox's index process. Bard told me that when Dropbox starts for the first time, it…

thanks for your reply --- I am not sure the best way to answer --- I created a list of files that don't exist on the target computer that I just turned on from another computer that is current -- is a simple text file would that help? from what I can tell from the list is that there is around 30 folders in the dropbox tree…

I find this solution to convoluted I think the “got-ya” in this solution is the removal of the symlink/junction and I know there must be some way to do that with the system file explorer, but the the better way would be using the sysinternal’s junction command which is issued in cmd.exe The entire process is best done in…
