HI @"Megan" If I do that, it says "Your Dropbox Basic plan includes access to our Help Centre, Community and Chatbot." Looks like you have to be on a paid plan to contact the support team directly. Dave

Hi @"Jay" - if I click on your link to the support team, it gives the following support categories and forces me to select one of them: * Your plan * Your account * Deleting and restoring * Sharing with others * Storing and uploading * Dropbox security * Dropbox apps and more * Dropbox Sign None seem relevant to this…

Hi @"Megan" Uninstalling and reinstalling Dropbox again has fixed it - but I have no idea why. The Windows UAC levels were already set to the default levels - I didn't change anything, I just uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox, which I had done the day I started this thread. Weird. Anyway, many thanks. Dave

I'm pretty sure this problem is caused by a bug in the latest release of Dropbox for Windows and that it would be straightforward to reproduce as long as you are able to install an old version of Dropbox for Windows. Are any Dropbox staffers in this forum? Steps to reproduce: * On a Windows PC that doesn't currently have…

Pasting works but there is no camera-like icon when I type a reply. This is what I see: Here's the screen capture of the context menu in my Dropbox folders:

Hi @"Megan" "Have you tried editing your original post using an entirely different browser? " Yes, there is no edit option on the original post in any browser, only on my replies. "'I'd also suggest clearing your browser's cache, or trying an incognito mode and checking to see if the behavior remains the same. " The…

How can one attach a screenshot here?

The file that's causing the error is random but it's always to do with Dropbox. Before I uninstalled Dropbox the file it said was causing the problem was C:\Users\dell\Dropbox\Anne Rado’s Camping Holiday with David, Summer 2017 with Photos.pdf After I uninstalled Dropbox the file it said was causing the problem was the…

"As a first step, can you clarify the exact OS version that you use on your Windows device? " Windows 10 "While we're at it, can you also share with me the app's current syncing status" It says "Your Files are up to date". But as I stated in my original post, they're all set to be on the server only and not available…

Also, why can't I edit my original post? It's very frustrating not to be able to fix typos. I can edit this reply but I can't see any way to edit my original post. Also, under Preferences > "Default sync state for new files", "Available offline" is selected. But all my existing files are online only and I can't see any way…

Also I wanted to edit my original post because it contains typos but I can't see an Edit button. I have edited my own posts in these forums before, so why can't I edit this one? NB - it lets me edit this reply, but not my original post!!

Also if I go into Preferences on the Desktop app, and then select Selective Sync Settings, all my folders are checked, So all the files in them should have a solid green circle, and none should have a green border round a white circle. If I copy a new file to my Dropbox folder, it gets a solid green circle. It's only the…

Hi @"Roga41" I've now explained three times that according to those definitions all of my files should have a solid green circle as they were all created on my laptop and then synced to the server, and are all synced and up to date. So how can I find out why, ever since. I upgraded Dropbox for Windows, most of them have…
-
Hi @"Roga41" I'm afraid it doesn't help. All the files, regardless of which icon is showing, were created on my laptop and saved in or copied to the Dropbox folder using the Dropbox for Windows desktop app. All the files were created in that way and synced to the server before I upgraded Dropbox for Windows and none have…

Hi @"Hannah" I posted a reply to your post about an hour ago, but my reply has disappeared, so I'm posting it again and I hope it stays on here this time. I thought I'd made it clear in my original post that none of my Dropbox files have ever been online only. Here's a screen capture to prove it.…

Also, I didn't get an email notification about either of your replies. is there any way that I can get notified when someone replies in this thread? Dave PS - I've just received an email notification about @"Hannah"'s post which she posted 6 hours ago! And I haven't yet received an email notification about @"Roga41"'s…

Hi @"Roga41" I linked to that page in my original post and wrote: The Dropbox help page doesn't explain it in terms I can understand. For the former icon it says it means "that a file was opened (directly or with a third-party application) and synced", whereas for the lattter it says it "means your file is synced and…

Hi @"Hannah" No, as I thought I'd made clear in my original post, none of my Dropbox files have ever been in an online-only state. Here's a screencapture to prove it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1di5byV0oXJvOcbm3Yerkoi13KWsALXiy/view?usp=drive_link So why do most of them have a white circle with a green border and a…

Android 8 Dropbox 392.2.2 Obviously I'm opening in Excel or rather Office - you can't edit in preview mode.

I'm on a desktop computer running Windows 10 and the image looks perfect on my screen. I can't see an upload button. I used the "Insert Image" button to insert it, which is the only button I can see that looks relevant apart from the "insert link" button that I used previously. Here it is again:

Hi @"Hannah" Android. Screenshot here. That's when I try to save it. When I open it, it just looks like any other spreadsheet. Dave

Hi @"Jay" You were given the steps to reproduce the issue near the start of the thread. It's clearly a Dropbox bug. Have you followed those steps? Dave

Best to email @"rodper321" as long as he's willing, as he came up with the steps to reproduce the problem.
-
Hi @"Megan" If you read the rest of the posts carefully, especially those from @"rodper321", you will realise that we have uncovered a Dropbox bug that is easy to reproduce. We are all using Windows 10 and the up-to-date version of the Dropbox Windows client. Please could you follow @"rodper321"'s steps to reproduce and…

Hi @"Jay" I have nothing that's changed recently and I wasn't getting this problem until today. Dropbox did connect eventually but it took more than 10 minutes.
