Hey @"s p.5"! Thanks for posting on our Community today. In general, the Dropbox overlay icons can’t be turned off in File Explorer, and I wouldn’t suggest trying to manually remove them either, as they’re an essential part of the desktop app and play a vital role in its functionality. However, since you mention that…

Welcome aboard our Community, @"vascovasco"! Feel free to post this as an idea here, so that our users can vote for it, as well. Based on how many votes your idea gets, our team can then decide on how to proceed with your suggestion. Here are some tips you can follow before posting your idea, so that you can increase its…

Hey @"mgambrell"! Is it OK, if we log a ticket for you next at the email address you’ve linked here on the Community?
-
Can you try an advanced reinstall next, if it’s not something you’ve already tried, @"marksow"?
-
You’re all set, @"bkimball90"! Please reply to my email, when you see it.
-
Cool, thanks @"marksow". As for the issue with opening files mentioned in the OP, are you getting any specific errors when opening them while the app is running? If yes, what do you see exactly, and are you only having an issue with online-only files, or files that are locally synced as well (available offline)?
-
Sorry to hear that the issue still persists, @"bkimball90". I can see that your previous ticket was automatically closed by the system, so can I go ahead and log a new one for you instead? Since we don’t have account visibility on the forum, our support team will need to look into this further.
-
I see, thanks for the updates @"marksow"! Have you tried any troubleshooting steps so far on your end, like uninstalling the Dropbox app, for example, restarting your computer, and reinstalling Dropbox after that? Other than that, I’d like to know how many files are currently saved within your local Dropbox folder to make…
-
Sorry to hear that, @"marksow". Are you also experiencing the same behavior the OP mentioned where the Dropbox icon doesn’t show in the menu bar (even though the spot still seems to be taken by it)? What do you see, if you click on that spot? As for the Dropbox folder, do you see the same options, when right-clicking on…
-
Are you the owner of this folder? Can you see it here and add it back to your Dropbox account?
-
No worries at all, @"TerriM"! It’s our pleasure to help you with this, and, of course, if this happens again, feel free to let us know here. We'll investigate after that.
-
Sure thing, @"form_ud"! Before logging a ticket though, can you please clarify what you meant here? I’m just asking because you previously mentioned that you don’t have another Dropbox account, so I’d like to make sure that’s still the case and that we’re going to look into the correct Dropbox account via email. When…
-
Thanks for the visuals, @"TerriM"! Hope you don’t mind, if I jump in here, too. The email address you received this from looks legit indeed. Can you please also double check your spam folder, and let me know if there are more similar emails there? Other than that, I’d recommend giving it a couple more days, so that we can…

Thanks for posting on our forum today, @"1tomhouck". To clarify, when using selective sync and unchecking folders via your Dropbox app preferences, those folders will only appear on www.dropbox.com (not File Explorer); so, in this case, you should only be able to access the local folders on your computer. Is it possible…en How can I view only the local files on my computer's File Explorer? Comentario por Nancy May 2025

@"form_ud", I can go ahead and log a ticket for you instead. Is it OK, if I reach you to the email address you see tied to your Community profile here?
-
I’m glad to hear that was the issue indeed and you could access the correct Dropbox account, @"Eri_Biz"! Is it possible you chose the "Sign up" option today, instead of "Sign in"? Or that you were previously logged in to Dropbox with the Gmail account and your browser directed you there automatically today?
-
Hey @"Eri_Biz"! I’ve gone ahead and spammed your other post, so that we can avoid duplicates on the forum and keep everything in one place. Can you let me know if you’ve already tried all the suggestions provided above, including checking for a second Dropbox account? If you've reached our support team as well, I'd like to…
-
The ticket number should look like the one you provided above (you can double check if all digits are correct from your email address, if you can access the ticket in your inbox). You can also paste a screenshot of the ticket number here and I'll check it for you.
-
Thanks for these updates! Can you also check any other email addresses you may have, just in case? What you can do is log in and search their inbox (and spam folder) for any emails from Dropbox. Other than that, can you please double check your ticket number for any typos? I tried to look it up in our system, but I…
-
Hey @"form_ud", I’m sorry to hear about the situation. Have you also checked your Shared tab here, and you don’t see any of your missing files/folders with the option to add them back to your Dropbox account? If you remember the names of any files/folders, you can also use the search bar on www.dropbox.com to look for…
-
Hey @"jeffwsears"! I was also able to reproduce this in the meantime (using the new shared link structure). My experience was that, if a folder is also shared (this way) and you create a shared link to it on top of that, the name of the folder won’t change indeed (if you rename it in the meantime). If a folder is personal…
-
Thanks for clarifying! Is this also happening with your Excel files? As the next step, I’d like you to unlink and re-link your Dropbox account to your Microsoft app (with the steps provided here). Please also make sure that there's not more than one Dropbox account currently linked there.
-
Hey @"jmzgt3"! Sorry to hear the issue’s back. I checked our system in the meantime and could locate your ticket. It looks like it’s been sent over to our advanced team indeed; please keep checking the same email thread for more updates.
-
Hey @"jobysoisson"! Can you also clarify how you signed back in to your Microsoft Word app? Are you connected with the same email address as the one you’ve linked to your Dropbox mobile app?
-
Hey @"eutrapelos"! Hope you don’t mind me jump in. Can you clarify for me what happens exactly when trying to edit your transcripts on www.dropbox.com? Are you having this issue with all audio or, even video, files?
-
Hi everyone! Our team has fixed the issue in the meantime. Can you please check and let me know in case any of you are still having trouble with this?
-
Thanks for those screenshots and for the additional info! Appreciate them. Can you also send me one more visual of what you see on this page? Have you tried deactivating and re-enabling the integration between Dropbox and Dropbox Sign? You can also check out this Help Center article for more details. In the meantime, I’ve…
-
Sorry to hear about your experience, @"skilightning". To make sure I got this right, you were initially trying to use the Signatures tab on www.dropbox.com, instead of Dropbox Sign. Correct? These are two different platforms, and while the Signatures tab will be deprecated indeed after the 05/29, you should still be able…

I’m happy I was able to help, @"lwluc"! It sounds like the Rewind was successful indeed. If there’s something else you may need though, you can always give me a nudge.
-
Hi @"lwluc"! Hope you're well and thanks for posting on our forum. As the next step, I’d like you to go to your Events page here and let me know if you can find the event showing these files being added back to the shared folder. If you can, please click on it and send me a full screenshot of what you’ll see next (if there…
