We are getting a lot of support cases because of this. Dropbox-hosted shared assets are intermittently extremely slow, and it directly breaks production pages for us. Right now the only realistic solution seems to be moving away from Dropbox completely, since support has not provided a real fix or workaround.

When did you send out mail to notify your users about this major change - I just went through my mail AND spam-filter and no mail from Dropbox regarding this. This has costed us at least two working days to change all our links in webpages, mails and stylesheet references. And for all I know you may change this again…
