Situation has been resolved. Files that were supposed to be downloaded onto the PC for offline use had not been downloaded.

I do not have a problem with files in other locations. I made a copy of one of the files in Dropbox and put it on my desktop. I have no problem searching for and finding all files in the copy. Yes, the problem still exists when Dropbox app is closed.

Same issue. Light red box that says Permission Problem. The only thing the screenshot shows is the files that pull up when I use a term that is in a number of my files.
