I think you solved the problem. I did sign in with my Yahoo address and that account remains as do the photos. Is there a way for me to link my original Dropbox account with my Gmail address?

When I received the email in June of this year that if I didn't sign in to my account all the photos/files would be deleted, I signed in. At that time I updated my email address to my Gmail account.
