I am sharing a link to a file. I select the share icon. Then Anyone with this link: can viewSettings The choose copy link. The settings says anyone with the link can view the file, but the person who clicks on the link still must be prompted to request access because I receive an email saying I need to grant them access.

Although the settings say anyone can view the link, I am being sent a message where the person attempting to view the file has requested to view it. I have to approve the request, and then they can view the shared file. Why is this happening?

It appears if you choose to share a file with the file open, for whatever reason, dropbox will prompt a view to create a login/ to login. But if you are looking at a list of files and choose to share the file with the share icon, then it may work.
