  • Hi Angelique, so great to see the comment here. It's wonderful to be able to edit on iPhone. Unfortunately, it's a pain to do all my editing on my phone instead of opening up the browser and making changes with a keyboard. Based on the forum request volume, there's a lot of interest in text editing (.txt) in the web…
  • Thanks for sharing this request upwards, adding here to say there are many of us (searching this forum for "text edit web" gets tons of hits) looking to edit text files in browser in dropbox. Appreciate your voice!
  • Hi Walter, unfortunately it looks like you've closed/archived several posts requesting this feature. That's disappointing! A lot of us are requesting this. Is there a single useful way we could highlight this need to people above you and help get it some attention?
  • By time breakdown and reasons 75% - Finder integration (folders in finder not in desktop app) - this is how I use all files, and Dropbox holds everything. 20% - iOS app while I'm on the go and need a file. Excel, photos, PDFs. Looking for reference or very light editing/sharing 5% - web, when at a computer I can't use…
  • Wanted to say thank you! Looks like this idea is in progress, which is great. Appreciate the help connecting us to the voting option.
  • I love the Finder integration. Dropbox keeps everything in sync and backed up, but it's all just living in my Mac's Finder, so I don't need to learn a new interface for copying, pasting, opening, etc, and the search on my Mac finds anything. This has always been the best part of Dropbox (it's just a folder) and I really…
  • Agree it would be great to get an answer. This seems like a poor limitation, and my Dropbox is littered with Mac (2) and Mac (3) which aren't... clearly named folders.
  • I too very much would like this feature. Having multiple "Mac (x)" folders in my Dropbox is a bit ungainly to say the least. All those Macs have system names, maybe the Dropbox backup could use the machine name and then I'd know which was which? Thanks for passing on the suggestions!
  • Please consider this. Every Mac shouldn't look identical. Or group them into a single area? Also, please consider not showing my "auto backups" as my "recent items". Often the recent items are things I'm actively working on, where as the desktop or download backup is random stuff, but because of the backups my real files…
  • Just replying to this to say totally doesn't address the complaints of 75% price increase for no storage increase.
  • Just adding to the many, many people here that would like to see Dropbox offer more reasonable consumer prices. Only $12/month is really, really expensive, and the new family plan at $17 (more than Netflix/Spotify/GSuite/365/etc) is just insane. Dropbox is the best file sharing/folder option, but it's priced like a BMW and…
  • I completely agree with this statement. The family plan is Plus but much more expensive. If it's going to have same storage as Plus it should be cheaper, as only add is family share features, where as if it's going to be this much money it should have more storage? I really support Dropbox as a business but it feels like…
