This beta update worked for me if I enabled Compatibility settings set to Win 7. I have not tried Win 8. (I'm running Win 11 Pro). I was able to get all of my files synced and app is now running and stable. Hooray!

Today, I was able to install Stable Build 194.4.6267 and got my system to sync all files. But then after 20min the DropBox app self updates itself to 216.4.4420 and it stops working. I wish I could keep it at this old version!

Just curious but has this issue been resolved. My dropbox issues started about 2 months ago and I am still not able to resolve them. Dropbox support email has been telling me that their engineers are aware and an update is being worked on. But I'm losing a ton of productivity and seriously considering switching to…

I too tried the new build version 215.4.7202 and get the similar response - trying to connect to internet perpetually.

Yes I already tried separate user profiles and same result.
-
I too may need to switch to oneDrive as this issue doesn’t seem to get the prompt attention of developers.

I'm having the same issue here as well. I don't think this has to do with firewalls or accessing any servers. I'm noticing that the Offline installer v210.5.4894 and today I tried offline Installer v211.5.32 both work in compatibilty mode until the darn app auto updates itself to current version then becomes stuck in the…

I've been having the same issue. I've been trying to fix with DropBox support staff but it's been very frustrating. I believe the issue lies with the Dropbox app auto updating itself. If I install an older offline installer like version 210 or 211 it works for a short bit until the app auto updates itself then it gets…

I'm noticing that the Offline installer v210.5.4894 and today I tried offline Installer v211.5.32 both work in compatibilty mode until the darn app auto updates itself to current version then becomes stuck in the Starting up mode. Dropbox support - please help us with a version that does not have autoUpdate so we can live…

So I have verified that if I uninstll v213 and install v210.5.4894 and run it under compatibility mode for Win7, the dropbox app appears to work nominally (time stamp 12:43pm) - but then the darn thing updates itself to v213.4.4597 and the system tray icon disappears and if I relaunch Dropbox it is stuck in the startup…

No my Windows 11 machine is still stuck. Dropbox support staff is still trying to help me. We have tried Advanced Reinstall but same issue - stuck in "Starting" with greyed out icon in System tray. I did notice that when I downloaded the installer it downloaded v213.4.4597. Last week, I was downloading v215.something. I've…

I agree - the problem appears to be with latest version of Dropbox.

I’m on Windows 11 Pro. I had Dropbox support help me today - but all we did was uninstall and install the latest version 213.something. I had my IT department at my work troubleshoot this and if we reverted to DropboxApp v 210.5.4894 the app connects, appears alive and nominal, attempts to sync files, but then shuts down…

I'm experiencing this exact same thing. Everything was working just fine until I got that same screenshots that Eric posted.
