Hi @"Greg-DB" ! Copiyng and deleting several files daily, can be an issue? Users in our platform can only access the files while logged in. The shared link should not be available if the user are not logged. These files will be accessed by many users and sometimes, simultaneously. So, sharing the original file is not an…

I did a second test, using the shared link instead of temporary link and yes, it works as expected. After permanently delete the file, the shared link does not work anymore. But the temporary link still working.

I removed all files, include the original uploaded without api and the link bellow still working at the moment of writing this message.…

Hi @"Здравко" , I don't think is some cache, cause I make tests with 2 different browsers and opening with private window. But, may this is the thing. This file was created from another that still exists on my dropbox. I used the endpoints copy-reference/get and copy-reference/save. Greg said on other topic that, the copy…

Hi @"Greg-DB" ! Is this normal? Look at this scenario.... Get an link using the endpoint "get_temporary_link" of video file. After that, I removed the file permanently, but the temporary link still working and the video plays normal. Tested with different types of web browsers. Thanks!

Hi @"Greg-DB" , is there any difference between the 2 endpoints, like performance and/or copy speed? Does Dropbox api has support to create aliases or shortcuts of a file, without copiyng? Thanks!

Thanks @"Greg-DB"! Do you know if there is a limit of creating a shared link for a specific file using create_shared_link_with_settings? I mean, can i create and revoke as many links for the file, at same time? Did not find answers in docs. thanks again!

Hi @"raRaRa" , what's the method you use wiht Drive API to upload with temporary link, as you describe here? Didn't find any info. Thanks!

Hi @"Greg-DB" ! Good tip! Do you know which process is more faster? I mean, get file metada from a file ID or file path? My guess is the file ID, when have a lot of files.
-
Hi @"Здравко", yes, but this will take time if target directory has many files. Anyway, a discovered that is possible to get file metada passing the full path instead of the file ID.
-
I do suggest store the file size into database, which will be more faster to sum than call the api.

Hi Walter! Is possible to achive this with api endpoint? Or just direct from dropbox app/website? Thanks
-
Maybe old, but you have 2 options. I don't know if in 2022, this endpoints was available. 1 - for small files (up to 150MB) use the endpoint get_temporary_upload_link, so you can make uploads directly from client-side. 2 - upload to your server and then, use save_url endpoint to request DropBbox do download the file from…

Great! Another question: This method has an webhook or we need to check for updates periodically using save_url/check_job_status to see if process was done? Thanks
-
Documentation says 15 minutes to upload using save_url and here, you said that is 5 minutes. The doc was update and we can trust it? Or it's really 5 minutes? Thanks
-
Got it! Dropbox team should really think about implement that. As other people said here, don't make sense upload large files twice, spending time and bandwidth.

For large files, i know it's not a good practice to expose the credentials, but... 1 - get the token from server-side 2 - use the token to upload from client-side and once the upload starts (or the first bytes are sent), send to server-side to refresh the token. I guess that, once the upload process start, the token is no…
