Dropbox for Mac has been infuriating since Ventura in so many ways and none of them ever get fixed. I'm getting to the end of my tether with it.
-
By the way, the right-click solution doesn't work for me – if you do this with a folder it doesn't make the contents online, so the only solution is to click the cloud icon. But to say that Dropbox don't recommend doing this is weak – just fix it. People have been complaining about the numerous bugs on the post-Ventura Mac…

This has been a massive bugbear for me too since the Dropbox update after Ventura. And the inability to stop the process of making files available offline if you accidentally click the icon, which was possible beforehand.
-
Can Dropbox actually act on these suggestions – the update has made Dropbox less user-friendly for Mac and I've been posting about this for a year, as have others.

I'm going to keep suggesting this until it happens. In the post-Ventura Dropbox update, if you accidentally click to make a folder available offline, it's impossible to stop it. I live in a rural back-of-beyond with supercrap broadband and it kills my connection. You could do this on the previous version and not being able…

I'm bumping this as it, indeed, incredibly annoying. Before this terrible update, if you right-clicked 'make online only' it would end the download process. Not sure why this can't be implemented on this version.
-
I hope you're still working on it in that case because it's not great, to the point I'm seriously weighing up other options.

That's really kind of you. So I've been tinkering and it seems that there were some issues with certain file types associated with legacy fonts that Dropbox took exception to while syncing, weirdly causing it (and my internet connection) to grind to a near halt. I deleted those files and it seemed to work okay. I'll see…

So, if you accidentally click on the cloud icon to download, you can't stop it and it's is causing me a major headache. I've got hundreds of massive files downloading that I can't stop, it's killing my bandwidth and preventing me from accessing the files I desperately need. Plus the new icon system is terrible and…

Thanks Mark. I'll give it a go – it can't be any worse!

Another big issue offline/online only storage. On the previous version, a right click and it was done, and it was clear as crystal what its status was. Now, it's not clear at all, and if you click on the cloud to download it locally, you can't stop it unless you pause sync, so now it's downloading hundreds of massive files…

I'm on version Version 167.4.4719. It's been installed for a week or so and it's finished transferring all the files to the new location.
-
It's now pretty much unusable with a crushing deadline looming. As well as completely destroying my internet connection. Great work Dropbox.. How do I go back to the previous version?
-
I'm not sure. I only did it because it said it improved integration with the new OS. If you haven't done it yet – don't!

Seriously regretting the upgrade, syncing and designating files as online/available offline is horribly glitchy and causing me serious headaches with a crushing deadline looming. Anyone else hating this?
