Having this issue too and it's making my job a living ******. Why do they even bother making these updates every time I'm tempted to jump ship. One of these days I'm going to migrate to Google Drive. Whyyyyy?

It's disturbing to me that this idea has been noted by the Dropbox team months ago, there's no pushback on a reason not to disable the feature, yet they're still 'gathering support'. It's becoming clearer every day that the developers at Dropbox do NOT use dropbox on a day to day basis. Every update makes it less and less user friendly, especially the user interface which in the past 2 years has gotten increasingly harder to use and focus has shifted to weird features instead of the actual files.
