  • I just happened to be cursing the inane photo-collage folders when I got an email notice of this topic. Glad this topic is still alive. Such a simple fix to please so many. Dropbox, please bring back the simple and legible blue folders - at least as an option. Please reply if you agree. Thank you!
  • Dropbox opened at startup this morning but did not open when I started up laptop minutes ago. Don't understand what's going on. I will uninstall and reinstall the desktop again and see how it goes. Thanks.
  • Thank you for the prompt response. Dropbox desktop app open on startup today, but any idea why it's failed several times this month? Thanks again, Judith
  • Thank you, Hannah, for the prompt response. I have disabled Quick View. 👏😎 Thanks again, Judith
  • Since I started this thread I obviously agree. Please bring back the plain-old blue folder as an option for ALL folders in grid or large-grid view (not just folders that have only subfolders). Thank you, Judith
  • I agree...obviously. The randon photo-collage thumbnails unhelpful and (even worse) distracting. Bring back the plain blue folders or at least make it an option.
  • Thank you, Walter, for the follow-up. Changes to work processes are unproductive - I'll use list view if I have to. I do appreciate your forwarding my feedback. Not all updates are good - sometimes I wish we could just leave well enough alone. Still don't get the value of a random photo-collage thumbnail for a folder.…
  • Thank you for the prompt response, Walter. It happens in Grid and Large Grid view - see screenshot below. .
  • We're still working on this - lots of potential causes, including internet carrier (sigh). I'l be back if/when necessary. Thank you for the prompt responses. Judith
  • I just did Chrome incognito window and did not get snap or memory errors but I sometimes do not get those errors when not incognito.
  • My Chrome says it's up to date: Version 114.0.5735.110 (Official Build) (64-bit)My RAM says: 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)I think the errors occur when Dropbox is and is not the only tab open but not sure.Thank you,Judith
  • Stuck notification red circle cleared after I uninstalled and reinstalled the iPhone app - hopefully that's not a recurring issue. Thank you.
  • In Dropbox iPhone app, I have a red circle with a 1 in it on the home page house icon and on the notifications bell icon. (I used to have one on the icon app on my iPhone home screen, but I got so sick of looking at it without being able to clear it that I turned off badge notifications.) I have three messages on the DB…
  • I will open a ticket as well since that may be the only to get attention.
  • CORRECTION TO MY EARLIER POST: I must disagree, even if the search issue is "resolved" for files going forward, Dropbox has still NOT resolved the problem that files apparently uploaded, renamed and/or moved during the span of the most recent search problems are still not searchable.
  • @"Walter" According to incident page referenced in your post, the search issue has been "resolved."I must disagree, even if the search issue is "resolved" for files going forward, Dropbox has still now resolved the problem that files apparently uploaded, renamed and/or moved during the span of the most recent search…
  • @"Walter" I see that the incident page claims that the search problem was resolved October 20, which is absolutely not true. When I saw that, the first thing I did was run the same (simple) search that triggered the problem for me. Search still does not find that document. I'd rather not waste more time posting about the…
  • Thank you @"Walter" for finally letting us know that it is a Dropbox problem. Brutal truth is always better than the tech-support runaround. I will keep a watch on the incident update page (probably too often), because I of course have huge projects due this week, and the search problem is making the workload almost…
  • Thank you, Walter. I look forward to hearing from someone soon.
  • Please see Ticket Nos. 19064142, 19082558, and 19046051, which include lots of my screenshots documenting problems. Since problems persist, I could create as many screenshots you need to document problem, but I'd rather not.Problems are on DB desktop app, website, and iPhone app. I do not know for sure, but problems seem…
  • Please Ticket Nos. 19064142, 19082558, and 19046051 - lots of my screenshots documenting problems in those. Since problems persist, I could create more screenshot proof but rather not. In addition, problems are on DB desktop app, website, and iPhone app. I do not know for sure, but problems seem rooted in files added via…
  • After reading posts on Dropbox Community and searching the internet, Dropbox is well aware of the search-related issues. If a post about the search-move-indexing problems gets any response from Dropbox, it is the we-need-more-information routine. Dropbox's failure to respond or correct these issues is not due to a lack of…
  • P.S. Dropbox desktop app No. 159.4.5870
  • I welcome any and all new ideas on how to get Dropbox's attention to the search issues. I'm still don't know whether the search function changes are Dropbox problems, or a Dropbox deliberate change in their format/protocols. Given the deafening lack of response, I'm thinking maybe the latter. Either way, it would nice if…
  • Why does the move function detect a file that a simple search does not? I searched for a photo to see what folder(s) it was in. The results indicated that the photo was not in folder A, so I decided to move the same photo from another folder to Folder A. I got a message that photo "already exists" in Folder A, even though…
  • Can someone from Dropbox help me? Search problem is nowhere near resolved for me. In fact, now that I'm focusing on it, it just seems to be getting worse and worse. Can somebody from Dropbox resolve my search issue like it supposedly resolved it for others in this chain?
  • And also seems to be a problem with any photo/file moved in the last few weeks. In the DB website I just moved a completely search-responsive file that's been on Dropbox for years from one folder to another and now it's no longer searchable and does not show up in any simple search that should catch it. Not sure how to…
  • I think I discovered something re: Dropbox search problems. Problem seems to be with photos/files added to Dropbox via the laptop app - maybe an indexing issue with desktop app? Within the last week or so, files added via DB laptop app are wholly unsearchable in the Dropbox website (whether in Chrome or Edge). Photos/files…
  • Good luck on that.........I might be too far in to change now. If you get compensated, please let us know.
  • I wish Dropbox would stop the avoidance tactic by sending frustating go-nowhere questions and requests for informaiton. The search feature simply does not worked as it has for years now. From what I can tell it is a problem with photos/files added or copied to Dropbox folders via the laptop app. Now that I've searched the…
