Just scrolling around and found this thread, and have noticed this flaw as well. This isn't a support case per user. There shouldn't ever be possible to create a dropbox account on a mail address you don't own. You can as it is today sign up for a dropbox account and use it without ever prove that you can read the mail…

@"Emby_9" , the workaround i usually do is to use the open source client Maestral for the second business account. That way you can have two separate Dropbox'es syncing to the same computer, but with some limitations like "smart sync" not working in Maestral.

Thanks for the reply @"Walter" . I created a new ticket (23450280). The support ppl wants some screen recordings to take steps forward, so hopefully i'll manage to get those tomorrow.
-
Any news to this? I have a few users with this issue, and it's been ongoing since about 6 months. Nothing seems to work..
-
@"Michel G.7" , the only solution for some kind of useful unsharing is to use Watermint Toolbox . With that tool, you can do all stuffs that should be possible in the admin console/web. There is no way to unshare one folder completely in a few steps, or to unshare recursively in Dropbox without that tool.
-
Thanks for clearing it out a bit @"Walter" ! Do you have any ideas when customers on the old version will get an update? Or is it possible to ask for an update?
-
@"Megan" , please have a look at the screen shots in my first post. There you can see that i have the option to invite external people with their email address. Also in the admin > settings i have the row "Top-level content management". In this scenario, i can share a team folder externally. On other teams i manage, there…
-
Thanks @"Megan" , The actual question is why i cannot share a root level team folder to an external mail address on some teams, but on other teams i can. What's the difference? It would be really great to be able to share team folders to external addresses on all teams.

Try adding www. to the opened link (www.dropbox.com... instead of dropbox.com...). It seems there are some dns issues with Dropbox today.
-
@"rodneyseverson" , that's not always the case. When you save files to your local Dropbox folder and the client doesn't sync, your files never reach the Dropbox servers. As this can, and do happen, and users are not warned about it you are lost.

I've got the same issue on about every Windows 11 computer. They have been stuck on "Updating Dropbox System" for ever, and the solution has been to quit Dropbox app > Uninstall > Download and reinstall latest version. The major problem here is that a lot of users have been working on files for a week without knowing…

The "unshare" feature in Dropbox could be a million times better, and since there is no built in way to handle it i got a tip about "Watermint". I ran into a situation where i needed to unshare some hundred folders with hundreds of users, and the official answer was "you need to remove the users one by one from the folders…

We also have the same issue with Ticket #22829762. At least two users affected on paid Dropbox Sign licenses. Different locations, tested different browsers etc.
-
@"amandachin" , the whole team would be nice 🙂
-
The possibility to work with several teams would be great. For me as a consultant working closely with multiple companies it's a bit of a struggle, and for my customers there is similar problems since they work with subcontractors/external people. Please follow this up and vote 😁
-
It would be really great if a Dropboxer could explain a bit here. Is it supposed to end up in CloudStorage by itself, or should we manually move the files there? It sure sounds like the files should move when upgrading, otherwise we as it managers get loads of work 🙂
-
Thanks @"Walter" , But, that it on the other end of this problem. Sure would be nice to be able to bulk remove users from ONE folder, but my question is to remove ONE user from all folders. Both ways should of course be possible to do.
-
How is it going with this issue? It's been a while, and it's the same on LOADS of Macs i work with. The easies solution i've found this far is to restart the finder app, then you get the icons back. But, as this is an old issue it should be fixed permanently.
-
Hi there @"Walter" , any news about this? I have a few customers that has put this question on their "Must have" list instead of "Nice to have" list.
-
I can see some nightmares with this if you want to keep the support for all OS'es 😱 It's bad enough on the client side where Macs can use some really weird file names locally which gets "translated" or skipped when syncing with Dropbox.
-
To use Activity for this isn't a great solution. What @"ScruffyDan" is looking for is a simple report that shows all shared stuff in the entire Dropbox. I would love this feature as well, and it makes perfect sense to be able to get this report to ensure that you don't share the wrong stuff to wrong people.

It could also be because you already have the files/folders synced to your computer. Then you won't get the "download button" in the web interface.
