Sure thing Flynn, I have raised the question in the Microsoft Community Forum. FYI, here is the link: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/officeonline-excel_online/excel-online-date-format-can-not-be-changed/5c543b14-d391-45e1-8137-f72e581b13ac?tm=1436235941067

I thought so, is that something you can raise Flynn?

Flynn, that does not answer Paul's question...that is an article on Microsoft Excel NOT Excel Online which is the issue that all Australian users are facing. Format Cells is not an option in Excel Online as there is only limited functionality available. The only option around dates is Short Date or Long Date.

That is the best you can come up with?! If Google Drive can manage it the Dropbox can (especially considering cloud storage is the ONLY service they offer).
-
Thanks for confirming its another reason to NOT use Dropbox and continue using Google Drive. I tested the version control in Google Drive and it works as per a DMS system (checking in and out is not what I'm talking about) where you can rename a file but keep the previous versions.

That is NOT how version control works. I've been managing DMS (Document Management Systems) at work and over the years I have not heard of anything as ridiculous as that. Another reason why I don't use Dropbox anymore. Google Drive does the same and more.

Great idea Dave. Tried it today and the same thing happened. There was the current version and a old version, then after the rename there were no other versions.
