I’d love to know what was behind this, both the rationale and the actually technology changes. The lack of a clear change log or transparency on what changed and why bugs me.

A further update -- I had to log off this computer and log back in, and when I did Dropbox began a total resync cycle (?) again -- a ton of disk activity that's been going on for nearly an hour, even though when I logged out it showed in sync. There's no apparent networking activity, so I'm guessing this isn't a complete…

Well, I'm kind amazed. I came to my computer earlier this morning after reading about the 89.x update. Dropbox wasn't even running on my computer, so I launched it to see what version I had. It was 89.x, and at startup it looked like the last version, thousands of file indexing and downloading. It stayed that way until…

Near as I can tell, the new build doesn't solve any of the underlying problems. I'm still at the same status I've been at the whole time. It's disappointing that there's so much apparent faith by Dropbox that there's no serious problem and such a lack of transparency about what big changes have occured in sync lately that…

@"user2891" wrote:From what I've read in this thread, it seems the Dropbox update has caused widespread syncing problems. My guess is that Dropbox does not have adequate server capacity to handle all of the re-syncing that is being requested, and that explains the low download rates users are experiencing. I'm torn between…

I'm really frustrated and disappointed. I worked patiently with Daphne via email to troubleshoot and she passed my information on to a second level tech support person. I finally got an email for them and his response was basically "I can't help you, you're using Server 2012r2 and we don't support it." I've been a paying…

As an update to my situation: No amount of time appears to unstick my sync status at "1 uploading, 7 downloading". File explorer access is sluggish, worse in my dropbox folder. The sync status icon overlays take many seconds to minutes to update; the larger files, the longer it takes. I'm getting some new file downloads,…

No solution so far. It's pure speculation, but I believe that the "no more symlinks" change is probably tied to some big change in sync code in Dropbox and not all the bugs are worked out yet. One of my workstations never got through the apparent "sync" backlog and didn't take any new files. The other shows 1 uploading, 7…

Thanks for your continuing support. I ask about the upload/download history/status/logging because the sync icons on my system have suddenly become glacial to appear when browsing my folders. Folders with large files can take tens of minutes to show sync icons, making it an ineffective way to find which files are in sync…

I haven't had any material improvement, including after performing a clean install (called an "Advanced Install" in one of the Dropbox tech documents). My primary workstation ("workstation 1") is stuck at "Uploading 1 file, Downloading 7 files". My secondary workstation ("workstation 2") is stuck at indexing ~9k files,…

I did both these steps without any apparent change in sync/indexing status or any change in system load which would indicate actual indexing or sync activity. If anything, I'd say it's gotten slightly worse as the "indexing" count is up to 8k now. What's the next troubleshooting step, an "advanced reinstall"?
