I overlooked that you deleted a folder ... request a "rollback" at www.dropbox.com/support Still, when I test ...deleted_files that I see my now deleted folder beside a "restore" button. Was the deletion more than 30 days ago? Was it inside a shared-folder?
-
Vidhi, goto https://www.dropbox.com/deleted_files and restore the files you need!
-
Areej, see if opening https://www.dropbox.com/home works for you even if It doesn't actually delete the history.
-
What does rss feed have to do with event history?

Mychale, the "comments' here are 99% unofficial! DB expect you to browse around the help files and the forums. But that can take some time. Short version is "use selective-sync" in which you select folder(s) to Not have on your computer. Long version is "DB is not a backup system", so only use if to backup y our personal…

I just moved "my documents" folder into my dropbox-folder. Of course window remade a now-empty version of my documents. I would like to know if there is a better way to do this.
-
No.

Graig, You may be confusing an "album" with a "folder" - they are not the same. Files live in folders where you may rename them and see a different order. Albums are sets of pointers to files (not the files themselves) and their order is the "Timeline."
-
No, "albums" are just lists of files you select and the list is sorted by date.

TCP/UDP port 17500 for lan sync and HTTP 80, 8080 Hyptertext Transfer Protocol. Used by web browsers ... HTTPS 443 Used for secure web browsing for starters
-
Rich R., Thanks for clarifying that. He wanted to use dropbox as if it were a mapped drive. I have not heard of anyone doing that over WAN, only over LAN. So dropbox is still not his solution.
-
Joe, if you have dropbox on a network drive (unsupported) and dropbox starts before the network drive is validated/connected then DB thinks you have deleted all your files!!!!
-
Conclusion: managing the rat's nest of shared links is an organizational challenge. And it makes a lot of additional work for users!
-
Renaming no longer invalidates liniks?! How are users supposed to know this? Go here https://www.dropbox.com/links/your_links and "x" any links not needed.
-
If you are trying to build a web site, you should know that dropbox is not intended for web hosting. Using those links could work, but you might run into the download limit for your account. No, I don't think there is a way to make 1000 links at one time. If there were, how would you use them?
-
k.s., There is an easy workaround to "delete all links": simply rename the root directory, or any directory in the path of said links.
-
My DNS gives [93.180.156.244] which seems tobe Germany and ping always times out! What IP do you get?
-
Dave A., I would LOVE to be able to do that, but I always get a timeout (MA, USA - comcast user), Even with the link you posted. Are you closer to Berlin, Germany than I am? What could I be missing? This site is not helpful: [link removed by moderator]

I have not been able to connect to boxconnect.org for several months.

Use the youtube "browse" button and go locate the file, which is in your dropbox folder.
-
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fub<mung>cb/Donna%20Summer%20-%20She%20Works%20Hard%20For%20The%20Money.mp3?dl=0 is what the link should resemble. But for your purpose you would change the "dl=0" to "dl=1" for your bowser but that would mean a delay while the download occurred. DB is probably not going to work for your website.
-
To play the ORIGINAL file do not use the web page, but either download the file or activate it from your dropbox folder (on your hard drive).
-
Click on "SHARE' next to the file name and copy that link - now paste that link (it will contain the name of the file). You can cut off the "?dl=0" at the end of the link.
-
Vivian, DB does not use the same 'model' as your operating system uses. For examples, the 'timeline' and 'albums' are Not folders but Views. Using the web site is a convenience, not the way you normally use your files.
-
Joe, goto www.dropbox.com/home hold down the control key to select multiple items for a group action...
-
Will work for Mac too, but the dropbox client must be running. Using web page www.dropbox.com/home you can click on space beside filename and a "move" appears at the top (c.f. 'more').
-
Open your dropbox folder (on your computer), select files, cut 'em, move to other folder and past 'em.
-
William P., change your bookmark to https://www.dropbox.com/home and the problem is gone.
-
The web interface ought to remember what "view" your browser used last.

It has happened to me that my "power saving" settings are tied to keyboard activity, not to internet traffic, so computer goes to "sleep" and transfers stop. THEN the computer wakes up and calculates "gee, it took 10 hours to send 100 MB, sooo it'll take yea long to send 10GB". For long transfers set the ethernet capable…
