How about "HIDE all notifications Older than Today" as the feature? How hard can that be?
-
Office 360, Outlook, and Excel try to restore access to files in use last time. If those files are also in the dropbox folder there MIGHT be a drain on resources that cause <youknowwhat> while Dropbox tries to sync the same files. Try letting dropbox start after the others are done.
-
I agree. But some of us forget to distinguish between system-backup and user-file-backup.
-
Hi Cassandra M, Because of the way OS10 is built to support different features and calculate space used on the disk, Dropbox's solution does not work for everyone's OS10. Working around that requires extensive code for OS10 support. This is an example of two large companies with competing products which can result in…

For personal photos sync & share dropbox with as many personal computers both on-site and off-site as you like. For company confidential information you might feel the need for many "copies". Only you know if you're being 'too cautious.'
-
Many of us consider Dropbox to BE a cloud-based-solution to backup.
-
I think we should be asking for a "How far back to show notifications" feature. (the underlying notifications are retained 'forever')
-
All you can do :-( is to create more new notifications until the old ones pop off the bottom of the screen. I suspect they cannot be removed, so I just ask for a feature that would hide old ones.
-
Changes were made that dropped the dots. We have to keep lobbying for a feature that would be no notices older than x months, or somesuch.
-
It is a moving target. This AM all my "notifications" have been cleared (along with the elipsis).
-
The Notifications display has recently changed! I think I am satisfied with the new setup as it no longer bothers me with 5 year old "notifications."
-
My guess is that the latest "Reader" only reads and Adobe wants you to buy "Acrobat" to edit a PDF. (This is not the same as fill-in-the-blank PDF files.)
-
The upload hangs if your file is too large. Unfortunately Dropbox cannot issue an error message such as "File exceeds 50GB" during a browser based upload. Dropbox does not have this size limit if you put the file into your dropbox folder.
-
It would help to know what file type(s) and file extensions these files have. Also, post part or all of the exact error message as well as the screen shot. I have had similar problems with .TIF files because they are LARGE.
-
I have seen this occasionally on my Android: my workaround is to "share" the photo with "dropbox"!
-
By the word 'play' I assume you mean what we used to call 'preview'. Yes? [This thread is now closed by moderators due to inactivity. If you're experiencing a similar behavior, feel free to start a new discussion in the Dropbox Community here.]

‘/Everything is in here.’ May be an illegal folder name - did you check?
-
Do you have DfB? Is the folder showing in your dropbox-folder (on hard drive)?
-
Rupert, First you must "join" the folder, whereupon the folder will appear in your dropbox folder and the files too IF you have enough quota in your account. This will allow you to read/write/remove files from/to the folder using your OS. Be careful! Another way to go is to share-a-link-to-a-folder. This gives read-only…
-
File Requests does Not require the user to have DB (but they will "Invite"!!!) FR is an update of a tool that was once from a non-db developer.
-
Sarah, What part of "File Request" does not do that job for you? It lets anyone put a file in your dropbox folder "file request", you can then send your group a link to that folder so they can see and access it.
-
A "regular shared link" should give the recipient a way to save directly to their dropbox account via the web (with no need to download first). This should let a recipient copy a file from DB sender to their own DB account without using a shared-folder. Ask the sender to click the "SHARE" button and enter your DB account…

https://www.dropbox.com/home and click "shared with"
-
;-) We have had browsers that didn't show the <blue> items & folk who expected DB to behave like their OS. It can help if you specify both. Submit a ticket with your details at www.dropbox.com/support
-
On www.dropbox.com/home click on the icon of a folder that has a <plussign> on it. But remember that you cannot have a shared-folder inside a shared-folder.
-
Never hurts to check those things... I can repeat the phenom if I double-click - could your mouse settings be doing that? Have you asked at www.dropbox.com/support ?
-
Clear cache on browser and make sure laptop is running latest version of DB (6.4.14)
-
Do you see a tiny little blue icon of a folder with a <plussign>+ on it at the top of https://www.dropbox.com/home ? click just once on it and a new folder will appear waiting for you to move your cursor to the blank and enter a new name for the folder. (do not press enter until you have provided the name.)
-
varsha, if you have a spread sheet with links to other files (in your dropbox) it will work on your computer but may not work on someone else's computer.
-
Ah, wandered off the reservation! [ you moved it (-: ] But others might find this too.
