  • @"MikeBook" Have you enabled the display of hidden files and folders in Windows, and then looked inside the Dropbox folder?
  • @"GlasgowJill" wrote:My question is: DB backup is a paid service. It's not just a paid service. Yes, there is a paid plan called Dropbox Backup that allows unlimited space for the backup of a single computer. It's like a Basic account in that it includes 2GB of space for regular file syncing (the feature you're used to),…
  • @"MikeBook" wrote:The dropbox file on the E drive is empty. However, when I right-click and select properties it's showing it contains 1.5TB. Within the Dropbox folder is a hidden .dropbox.cache folder. This folder holds files while syncing as well as files you've deleted elsewhere (the Dropbox website or other devices)…
  • @"awertgcs" wrote:I have been doing this for years, but with my latest file I am getting automated emails asking for permission to access the file. If your default is set to create a Can Edit link, people could be clicking the Join Folder button which would prompt you to approve the access. Go into your account settings…
  • @"muxedkay" wrote: I had some issues like this before where a file just stopped working then when another person has it, it works. like how does that work does Dropbox disable the user with file itself? If a link is disabled, it's disabled for everyone. If the link you're trying to access is saying that it's been disabled,…
  • @"R E.1" wrote:... apparently dropbox changed from program to "app" (hate them vs. full programs) ... The Dropbox desktop app hasn't changed. It's still a full application. Are you sure you installed the full app and not the "mobile" app that's available in the Microsoft Store? They don't work the same and are meant for…
  • @"Daviator" wrote:... no one at DropBox could or would answer my question about the reason for the need of a local folder. You're misunderstanding what Dropbox is, at its core, and how it works. It's not a cloud-based folder where the content only exists online. The local Dropbox folder is a regular folder like any other,…
  • @"Dsrtgrl7" @"RAJU uncle " You need to contact the developer of unrealBook. Only they can resolve this for you. Dropbox doesn't have anything to do with that application. As a work-around, try connecting the Files app to Dropbox, and then try to access Files through unrealBook.
  • @"Queen444" wrote:Now DB is saying that my referral is ineligible all of sudden. Why not say this at the time of referral? If it's saying ineligible, then it's ineligible for a reason, and Dropbox wouldn't know if it was eligible or not until the referral process was completed. Was the app installed on a unique computer,…
  • @"dhillman" wrote: Never stop syncing, no tick marks on folder, no dropbox menu on right-click Exit the Dropbox application if you're able to, check Task Manager and end any remaining Dropbox tasks that you see (Update and Service can be left alone), then launch Dropbox again.
  • @"ErnieDee" wrote:But now I notice that right click isn't working at all, in any way, so it's not a Dropbox-specif issue. That's where I was going with that. Try a Control-Left Click, just to make sure you can still get a context-menu.
  • @"ErnieDee" wrote:Yesterday, Dropbox worked fine: when I right clicked on an item in the Dropbox folder on my Mac desktop, an array of options popped up, including one for creating a Share link. Today, that right click doesn't work and no options pop up. Are you not getting a right-click menu at all, or are you getting a…
  • @"Globalcitizen2024" wrote:Dropbox keeps charging my credit card $11.99 for a monthly subscription, even though I cancelled my paid subscription in August 2023. First, I'd check the credit card charge lookup tool to verify that it's the same account that you're being charged for. If it's a different account, sign in to…
  • @"Loeries" wrote:Hi I just want to find out if there's a type of backup solution that will enable me to recover dropbox data if for instance something was deleted more that 30 days ago. We have Dropbox advanced The Dropbox Advanced plan includes one year of file recovery.
  • @"SveinTerje" wrote: I have saved a movie file in a folder on my computer that is in Dropbox. Why can't I find the file when I try to import it into Adobe Premiere Rush, or why can't I find it on dropbox.com? If you don't see the file when you sign in to the Dropbox website, then it likely hasn't synced from your computer.…
  • @"sosbo_4" wrote:I have even logged out of my Dropbox account and used the link to see if it changed anything, it did not. • @"Mark_Royle" wrote: Really what we want to happen is that When a file/doc is put into the Network folder it will then Synchronise with Drop Box for then access on another device. Dropbox doesn't do that. It will only sync the files located in the Dropbox folder. It can't sync files from other locations, like your network…
  • I've always found Microsoft's implementation of Dropbox to be buggy at best. Instead of adding Dropbox as a location I use the Files app instead, and have Dropbox added there. Works perfectly in every application I use.

  • @"quantum88" wrote:My Plan says - 0 bytes used of 2GB. As I said, I have no files uploaded at present. You're confusing disk space and memory (RAM).
