Welcher Browser ist das passiert in? Haben Sie andere versuchten?

Any way to default to a short link, or maybe custom link? No.
-
* (3) Click "Copy public link..." * (4) "Shorten Link" will be available on the popup box That's only available for files located in the Public folder, which is a deprecated feature. Accounts created after October 2012 no longer have a Public folder.

The shortened URLs were removed because many thought they looked suspicious/spammy. Apparently Dropbox received complaints (that's the information that was provided on the old forums). One of the only locations where they still existed was when sharing a link to Twitter. You could go through the process of sharing to…

Can I just transfer them from one to the other? There are third-party services that can do this for you. One such service is mover.io. There are likely others out there as well.

Thus If you take a 100 MB movie, you end up using 200MB of space on the iPhone, 100MB for the Photo Gallery, and 100MB in the Dropbox App. Not true. The Dropbox app on mobile devices does not store files like the regular computer clients do. Yes, it may have a copy of the files for a short time, but this is just a cache.…

But how to get middle string of the links which looks like a random string. You can't. You're using a share link which has a randomly generated string in the link. The process discussed above is only for links generated within the Public folder, which uses a user ID rather than a random identifier. The Public folder is a…

I'm not sure what you mean by rescue the deleted owner.
-
Only the owner of a share can transfer ownership to another member. If the owner is no longer part of the share, then it's impossible. Your best course of action would be to create a new share, invite everyone to it and move the data.
-
I found that if I go back to "Files" and attempt to "Share" again, a window will pop up and tell who I shared with and downloaded, and whose share is still pending. You can get to that page directly by clicking on Sharing on the left side of the page.
-
So if you share a "link" how do you know if the person got it? You don't, unless you ask them yourselves. Is the fact that a link was sent, and to whom, along with my comments, reside somewhere on the site? There's a list of the links you've created on the Links page but there's no record kept of whom you've sent them to or…

If you invited someone to a shared folder they will appear on the Sharing page under that share.

Is this still working that way? Now doesn't work. Each time you replace the file the former link isn't longer available. Someone else reported this earlier but I'm unable to reproduce it. I had a file with an existing link. I made a change to that file overwriting the existing one. The link remained active. If that's not…

How big is this Zip file? Dropbox is known to have problems creating Zip files larger than 1GB or so. If you're using the built-in Zip support that Windows has, I would try a program like WinRAR, 7Zip or WinZip. Otherwise you may be out of luck.

When I log into dropbox and go to settings, there is no import tab You do this within Preferences of the Dropbox app on your computer, not on the Dropbox website. * https://help.dropbox.com/create-upload/screenshots

That's not possible. Any link that Dropbox generates will allow the file to be downloaded.

Do you have one that you can create a link to and post here? This should be a file that doesn't contain any private information, children, sensitive/explicit material, etc. Basically, a file you don't mind showing to the rest of the Internet as an example.
-
Dropbox is not capable of altering your files in such a way. If the files have actually changed to have a white background (and it's not just a display problem) then something else is the cause.

On my iPad half of my available storage is taken up by my photos. My photos are sync'd to Dropbox. How do I safely remove them from my iPad without deleting them from Dropbox? @Chris: In the future, please start a new topic or reply to one related to the issue you're having. Thank you. As long as you've uploaded your…
