Dropbox already keeps all files for a period of 30 days, no extra costs involved, and you can request a rollback of your account to a point prior to the infection. An option for one year of recovery does cost extra, as you mentioned previously. * https://www.dropbox.com/help/8408

It seems that if you pay for the Pro version they should provide protection against ransomware encryption. How? Dropbox can't see that the files are encrypted (files uploaded to Dropbox are split into 4MB chunks), and even if it could, how could it differentiate between those encrypted by ransomware and those purposefully…

1) When a file becomes encrypted and is synced to Dropbox, it is synced as a change, so the previous unencrypted version would be available for recovery. 2) If I had to guess, probably not, and it's not really their responsibility to do so (IMHO). Dropbox provides a file sync service; nothing more. Any antivirus,…

1) If you have files in your local Dropbox folder they would become encrypted as well. If you then have the Dropbox software running, those files would then sync to the cloud and any other devices you have. 2) No place is safe once you're infected with ransomware. If the files are on your system they can be encrypted…

I would be helpful if drop box synced away from the hard drive. But that's not what it's intended use is. The entire point of Dropbox is to sync the files that are on your hard drive to your account online or other devices. It is not a cloud-based folder/drive or a way to increase the storage space on your system. It is a…

She needs to either invite you to a folder containing the file, or send you a share link to the file. https://www.dropbox.com/help/274 You can also create a folder and invite her to it, then she would place the file in that folder and it will sync to you. there's no way to move a shared folder into another shared folder? Correct. Shared folders cannot be nested within each other. [This thread is now closed by moderators due to inactivity. If you're experiencing a similar behavior, feel free to start a new discussion in the Ask a Question section here.]

Soo. I take it there is still no other/better solution than simply letting your pro account expire and getting the upgrade again afterwards? Correct. Your files will remain safe, even if you go over quota (for a while, anyway).
-
It's now mid-November and I still can't change my billing subscription! Let your subscription expire and then upgrade again using your new payment method. Nothing will happen to your files while you do this.
-
Nothing. You won't be able to sync if you're over quota, but your files will remain in your account and accessible. Just upgrade your account again and you'll be back to normal.
-
There's no way to change the billing country on an active subscription. You need to let your subscription lapse and then sign up again with your new payment method. The following is a reply to a similar question from a Dropboxer: Ashley scribbled: Hi there! Unfortunately, it's not possible to change your billing country.…

Not through Dropbox, no. There may be a file utility out there that could do it for you (at least all of the files in your Dropbox folder on your local computer). Try looking on Google.

That's a Windows 10 option; not Dropbox. Right-click it and select Unpin from Quick Access.
-
You can keep saying that somebody deleted the files but thats just not true. Yes, it is true. Dropbox is not capable of deleting files on its own. Either someone with access to the account or some other process on their computer had to initiate the deletion. Usually this is because someone does a drag and drop thinking…

This stopped happening for me in Photoshop a few weeks ago. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I'm on the Experimental builds. Try upgrading to the latest and see if the problem goes away. * https://www.dropboxforum.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/204360366-Experimental-Build-3-11-45

The problem is fixed for AutoCAD, but it remains for other applications (Adobe products like Photoshop and Illustrator, and Office).

Cross-linking the two related threads regarding this issue. Note that multiple applications are affected by this. https://www.dropboxforum.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/201612939-Temporarily-pause

I've started having this issue in the last month or so while working in Photoshop. I've used the same process for nearly three years, which is to open a PSD file from a Dropbox folder and do a "Save As" and a "Save" (first to save as a TGA file, then to save the PSD) as I work on it. I do this every few minutes or so. This…

and so far there hasn't been any ... developer feedback on if this will be implemented (or why it won't be). And there won't be. Dropbox does not comment on what features will become available or when. Sofia, a Dropbox employee, commented just this morning that she would pass this request on to the development team. That's…
-
No need for a new post as Sofia already addressed it above. She'll pass the information on to the development team. I'm removing the other post so that we can keep this all in one location.
-
That's a share link, not a shared folder. A shared folder requires that they have a Dropbox account, and the folder will exist in their account. That enables them to search it. A share link to a folder is not searchable. That's what Sofia was explaining above.
-
There's no way for the user to search through the shared folder. Yes there is, if it's a shared folder. If you've provided a share link to a folder, then no, the recipient cannot search it without adding the folder to their own Dropbox first.
-
If it's saying full then the shared folder likely has more than the 2GB available in your new Dropbox account. Open your Account page and see what it shows you for usage in your account. You should see a line that looks like this: 31.2 GB of 36 GB used Regular files (30.8 GB) Shared files (386.8 MB) Unused space (4.8 GB)…

but keep getting the Dropbox full message. That message is referring to the space in your Dropbox account; not the space on your phone. You can view your Dropbox usage on your Account page.

From here: https://www.dropbox.com/help/9064 Does Dropbox offer tax exemptions? Some non-profit or educational institutions can receive tax exemptions on Dropbox Business subscriptions. Team admins can contact customer support through the Admin Console to see what options are available.
-
Isso é algo que WhatsApp teria que implementar. Dropbox fez a API disponível para a funcionalidade estendida como este.
-
Uninstall and re-install Dropbox and it will be fixed, and yes, it's related to OneDrive attempting to take over that function.

Links cannot be reactivated like that. When you move, rename or delete a file or folder, any links pointing to them become invalid. You'll need to create a new link.
