  • A red X on a file or folder indicates a problem with that file or folder. A red X on the Dropbox icon could mean the same, or something else entirely. You need to hover your cursor over the Dropbox icon in your system tray (Windows) or menu bar (Mac) and see what Dropbox is reporting. The Bad Files Check page is currently…
  • @"Dennis01" wrote:When you say significantly changing locations, what distances are we talking about? Apple only allows applications to remain active in the background for a few minutes. To get around that, Dropbox uses a change in your location as a trigger to wake up and get more background time. This is why Dropbox…
  • You did the right thing. The Share an Idea area is just another section of the forum meant specifically for ideas and feature requests.
  • Go into the Privacy settings on your phone and make sure Location Services is enabled and active for Dropbox. If it's not, Camera Uploads won't upload in the background. (Which ties into Walter's question about significantly changing locations, as that's the trigger for the background process.)
  • For starters, I'd suggest posting on the thread specific to the version you're having a problem with. * https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Desktop-client-builds/Stable-Build-83-4-152/td-p/371716 Beyond that, you should open a ticket with Support. * https://www.dropbox.com/support

  • @"Jane", the integration that Ashu is referring to is Chooser. @"Ashu7878", you probably want to post this in the Developer section of the forums. * https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/API-Support-Feedback/bd-p/101000014 I'll move the thread over there.
  • @"niazy" wrote:Everytime I create the symlink to the Dropbox, it initially works, but then the OS restores what seems like a default folder and deletes the link. I can't comment on why Catalina is replacing the symlink with a new folder, but I can say it doesn't matter much anymore. Dropbox has never supported symlinks and…

  • Yes. Either one of the subfolders is shared, or the folder that you're trying to share is within a folder that is already shared. Remember, it's not enough to just remove the members of any share you find. You have to unshare the folder entirely. Even with all members removed, the folder is still shared with you as the…
  • Are you able to drag to any other location in the Sidebar, or is it only Dropbox that's affected?

  • @"MarianoBNewlink" wrote:Actually its an erro generated by dropbox somehow. It is not generated by Dropbox. It's generated by Windows. Dropbox has nothing to do with opening files. Since you've mentioned that the files are marked as Online-only, when you try to open a file Dropbox has to first download the file before it's…
  • You can look at your Events page, or you can restore one of the files and then look at its version history. Also note that if you've recently renamed a folder, you may receive a notification that a number of files were deleted, since Dropbox sees a rename as a deletion (old name) followed by an addition (new name).

  • @"Ted G." wrote:I have gone into accessability and given Dropbox full permissions in many places related to File and Folders but that does not fix the problem. • Any email notifications that can be enabled/disabled can be found on your Notifications page, while any notifications from the Dropbox application can be enabled/disabled through Dropbox Preferences. Transfer notices do not appear to be listed as an option.
  • @"Brian C.62" wrote:Not sure why everyone says this feature is missing. It is still there. Look again. That page shows all the shared folders that you can add to your Dropbox. It does not show shared folders that are already in your Dropbox. The page that shows all current shared folders in your Dropbox no longer exists.
  • @"Myleen" wrote:If that is the code, how would I determine where it came from? By viewing the source code (email headers) of the message. • If you view the source code of the bounced message, you should be able to determine exactly where the message is coming from.
  • The version you want to restore... when was it last modified? If it was within the last 30 days, then you should be able to restore it. If it was last modified more than 30 days ago, then it cannot be recovered. * https://help.dropbox.com/files-folders/restore-delete/recover-older-versions To be clear, it's not 30 days…
  • Where is the bounce originating from? More than likely it's the recipient's mail server, in which case they'll need to change their spam protection so emails from Dropbox aren't blocked.

  • Dropbox has no such feature in the their apps.
  • It's highly unlikely that Dropbox will ever develop such a feature. They used to have many photo-centric features, including a separate iOS app just for photo management, but it and nearly all other photo features, including the ability to create and share albums, have been removed from Dropbox over the last few years.…
