The gear icon exited in older versions of the Dropbox client. In the newer versions which have a different layout, the gear is replaced by your avatar icon in the upper-right corner of the window. Click it or the downward facing arrow next to it.

Still works just fine for me, on the latest iOS. I've sent multiple files from my Camera Roll to Dropbox via the Files app, and directly within the Dropbox app. What steps, exactly, are you taking to upload your files?

@"Server_Align" wrote:You might want to also do the APPLY TO FOLDERS button to push that out to all folders. That doesn't matter. The Show hidden files, folders and drives option is system wide; not folder specific.

Just search the App Store for an .msg viewer. There are several.

Nothing will happen to your files. You're cancelling your subscription, not the entire account.

Temporarily close the Dropbox application or pause syncing, then try to save a file in the Dropbox folder again. What happens?

If you're doing this within the Dropbox folder on your computer, you just move the fodler as you would any other file or folder. The Dropbox folder is just a regular folder. You manage its content as you would any other folder on your computer. If you're working on the Dropbox website, just click the ellipsis (three dots)…

I could be wrong, but I think you need to uninstall/reinstall the Dropbox application, possibly with an advanced reinstall so all application files (not your data) are removed. * https://help.dropbox.com/installs-integrations/desktop/advanced-reinstall

Use a File Request. No account needed for the uploader, and they can't access the folder other than to upload files. * https://help.dropbox.com/share/create-file-request

@"TommyV" wrote:I certainly didn't intend to do so, and what the heck happened to my account? Technically, your account no longer exists. It's part of the Business account now. If you had a paid account, any remaining time you had left on your subscription would have been refunded to the payment method on file. Can I…

No change. Dropbox has no such functionality, and we likely won't know if they plan to add it until they actually do. Dropbox doesn't discuss what features they may or may not be adding. You can use the Share an Idea section of the forums to make a feature request.

0x80004002 is a Windows error; not a Dropbox error. It usually indicates a problem with Windows Update or possible damaged system files. There are a lot of results online that discuss the error, and possible ways to resolve it. I'd suggest a Google search for 0x80004002.

@"mes640" wrote:Is there a way to have a file exist in multiple folders without being duplicated a million times? No, there isn't. Think of your Dropbox as just a regular folder on your computer. Any organization is up to the users using that folder.

How are you creating the share link? I've just created one for a folder that contains multiple files and another subfolder of files. The link, modified to ?dl-1, downloads a Zip file that has the same name as the folder, and the content extracts normally.

Yes, any changes made within Dropbox will sync to all other connected computers. There's no other way to revert a change like that without it syncing. Even if you were to rewind the account to a specific day, all the changes would need to sync to the conencted comptuers. Your best course of action is to simply move the…

Only the owner of the file can help you. If they no longer have the file, then I'm afraid there's nothing you can do.

No. Dropbox is not a media player. It can play single files, but will not advance to the next file. Find a media player that works cloud storage providers.

Take a screenshot on your device showing the error. You can then use the Photos icon in the Reply window to add the image to your reply here. That being said, I can open that link on my phone without an issue.

There are no settings that control the file name formats, but you can manually rename files as you're uploading them. There's an option to do so after you select the photo or video that you wish to upload.

Dropbox doesn't (and can't) sync the items on your Desktop on its own. It will only sync the items located within the local Dropbox folder on your hard drive. There have been work-arounds and other third-party utilities that allowed you to sync folders outside of Dropbox, but they are not supported. So to determine how to…
