When you click the paper clip while composing a message, instead of immediately tapping on Dropbox as we used to, use the three horizontal lines in the top left corner sometimes called hamburger. That will open a list of all the places from which you can attach things and if you look down to find Dropbox do NOT tap on THE…

Hi Daven, So glad! Appreciate you letting me know!
-
Hi! Are you sure you are clocking on the arrow in the little box next to Dropbox?
-
Actually, this is a better description: (1) Click the paper clip in the upper right of your Gmail app (2) Choose the hamburger on the top left to get the drop-down menu. (3) Then instead of clicking on the word "Dropbox", click on the arrow just to the right of "Dropbox". This opens Dropbox and lets you navigate to the…

I don't think it's an option Dropbox will update. It's just slightly different steps to attach to a file. Now that I'm used to it, I actually like the interface better than the old way. As others have stated, to attach files, you will need to select Attach File in Gmail, open the hamburger menu on the left, select Dropbox,…

Hi, just to clarify that there is an workaround. Here's that & Dropbox position together... Here are some exchanges. To summarize: (1) Solution 3 does work just fine. You can attach a Dropbox file to a Gmail. You have to get used to it. (2) Dropbox Community Mgr started a month ago that Dropbox can't fix to the old way…

Sorry, here's the best description of how to attach from driving. It works. I'm in your same situation. "Unfortunately you can't attach files here or I would share the ones I have marked up illustrating the steps. But the key has been stated here several times. You start with the paper clip, But instead of choosing a…

Dear fuserr This is not considered a bug at this point. You have to learn a different way to attach, but it works fine and is easy once you get used to it. Solution is given in earlier threads. "you will need to select Attach File in Gmail, open the hamburger menu on the left, select Dropbox, then choose the files to be…

From the Dropbox support team -see below. It really does work. It's a matter of getting used to it. ======== I've spoken with our Engineering team about this, who have confirmed that the 'Attach from Dropbox' option no longer being available is the result of an update to the Android OS and Gmail app, specifically Storage…

Perplexed not peppered! 😯
-
Agree, but I am peppered as to why we don't have a single update from the company on when this will be fixed. Has it even been formally acknowledged as an issue?
-
Thanks, Larry. Works like a charm!
-
Yes, I'm using an Android. Now my only proven is that I can't attach a file from Dropbox to a Gmail email.
-
Thanks, Samantha. Please note: Can't attach file from Dropbox to Gmail but also can't download an email attachment to Dropbox anymore. Only option is GoogleDocs!!!
