Thanks!

So with those numbers, I need a lot more than 2 Gb! Just wanted to be sure. Thanks!
-
Just to be sure, does "unlinked" mean that the backup is not happening anymore?
-
Okay. Now, how do I don't want to use the Backup feature anymore. How do I disable it?

Regular files (11.6 GB)Backup (34.6 GB)Shared files (623.4 MB)Unused space (2.1 TB) What are "regular files"? "Shared files"? I know what the backup is.

Also, I would like to know how much space I have on Dropbox -- not the backup but any files I might have manually backed up to Dropbox. For example, I back up my Quicken files to a folder on Dropbox separately from the Dropbox Backup/sync. If I were to stop using Dropbox Backup, can be sure that the files I've backed up…

So now I've discovered that not all my Document folders and files are being backed up on my new computer. Oops! They've ended up in my OneDrive folder and not in my local folder at all! Is this something you can help with? I have OneDrive unlinked, but clearly that's not helping! Judy

Thanks for the https://www.dropbox.com/backup/all suggestion! Judy

Now I'm having a problem finding them. 🙃 Could you remind me how to get to my Backup page?
-
But it's still showing up (Judy 12205)!

So .dbxignore is on my desktop because I've chosen to view hidden folders. "Some external hard drives need to create log files to function. Dropbox ignores these to save space in your backup. To do so, it creates placeholder .dbxignore files that take up less space." I'm not using an external hard drive but I'm wondering…

I'm posting on my laptop, not my phone. Well, I'll have to work on this. Thanks!
-
Okay, so usually it's a hidden file. Does that mean I should just leave it alone? My original question was whether I could/should delete it. If I'm accessing the community on my phone, should I be using my usual DropBox login information? I thought that was what I was doing, but I wasn't able to reach the conversation.…

It's just a simple file icon with the name dbxignore. Windows 10. Desktop app: Version 178.4.4811 "Up to Date." I believe that I enabled hidden files. I've read this online: "Dropbox ignores these to save space in your backup. To do so, it creates placeholder .dbxignore files that take up less space." But I didn't expect…

It shouldn't be a problem to leave Carbonite running for a while longer, or it shouldn't be a problem to remove it!!
-
And, of course, I don't recall where I read this! I didn't realize that I was duplicating my syncs and will be happy not to renew my Carbonite subscription. I'm just wondering whether I should simply remove it from my computer once I'm comfortable with Dropbox.
-
Yup, it's Dropbox. I can add my password and get to the password app. If I click on "lock," I then have to reenter my password. And it's not the password for my regular Dropbox account.
-
P.S. I was just asked to set up a passphrase for my desktop, so I did!

Sorry for so many questions all at once. 1. Yes, I can see all my backups at the link you provided. 2. Before I realized that my Documents folder was being backed up automatically, I had copied it manually to Dropbox. I'm assuming that's a totally different folder than the "official" backup. Is that correct? I wasn't…

* Open the Dropbox app and tap the menu button. * Tap the gear icon (or Settings in older versions of the app). * Under the Features section, tap Configure Passcode. * Tap Turn passcode on. * Enter and confirm your new passcode. On my Pixel 7, I don't have a "features" section. How can I set up a passcode? Also, can I set…

One more (stupid?) question: There's constant reference to "external drive backups." If I haven't chosen an external drive, is my backup available on dropbox.com? Another stupid question: The other day I copied my Documents folder to Dropbox using the blue icon. Obviously, that's not being backed up regularly. Can I just…

Well, it looks like my Documents file is being correctly backed up and up to date, although I don't recall ever setting up the backup/sync process. In the process of figuring this out, though, at one point I was asked for my 12 words, which I had, but I was told that at least one of them was incorrect. Somehow, though, I…
