Could you check the bandwidth settings in the Dropbox desktop application? Also, is the external drive connected via USB 30 or C to your machine, and is it also in use frequently during times of syncing?
-
No worries, thanks for letting us know in this matter and that you were able to get the edits.
-
There might not be a conflicted copy since this was via shared link. If the text was deleted, then it could appear on the events page, but as you've mentioned, it isn't there in the version history.
-
If a file is edited in Word for the Web, then it would be edited and saved almost immediately. Have you previously had conflicted copies when the same file with your collaborator was opened at the same time?
-
Do you have any proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains?
-
Hi @"chrisjorg", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Just for clarification, what kind of shared link to the file did you create for them to edit the file? This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"Morgsbek", thanks for messaging the Community! When you enable the camera upload feature, it will automatically attempt to upload any images in the camera roll and any albums you choose to the Camera Uploads folder. It won't be possible to preserve any album names, since all images go into the Camera Uploads folder.…

@"Britkit97", you can copy and paste your screenshot in your next reply, if you're not seeing the option to attach the screenshot. Otherwise, try using a desktop machine to attach it. @"dlav2001", it might not be possible to deselect subfolders when using the Dropbox Backup feature on your device.
-
Do the files have any sync icons on them? Could you attach a screenshot showing the difference of files on the external drive, and on the Dropbox site?
-
Could you clarify exactly what you mean by using a snipping tool event, step-by-step, for me to understand what is happening?
-
Instead of moving the file itself, does a copy of the file experience the same issue? Does the file have a password, or any other special permissions on it?
-
HI @"ddco3", could you clarify what the issue is exactly? Are you trying to add that shared folder which is 716 GB onto your account which has a 2 GB limit?
-
Could you test this by copying and pasting the file into the root Dropbox folder, and try starring that copy?
-
Is it only occurring for this file, since you mentioned a folder works?
-
Hi @"Kookoo2", thanks for posting today! The files would become online-only, meaning they would free up space on your hard drive, but you'll still see the placeholders there. If you have any further queries, feel free to message back.
-
Do you see any recent events related to these files? Are they in a shared folder or a private folder?
-
Files and folders with an underscore at the beginning of them are considered to be hidden files on Mac OS. You'll need to enable the viewing of hidden files to see them in your Dropbox folder there.
-
Hi @"Mary Ann1", thanks for messaging the Community! You can see these deleted files on the deleted files page. Did you recently move these images, or make any other changes to them? This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"benraph", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Could you attach a screenshot showing the folder in Finder, and another on the website and Windows machine showing the same folder without the files in question? This will help me to assist further!
-
We appreciate this feedback about the Windows screen capture feature, we take all comments into consideration when looking to improve the Dropbox app and services.
-
What is the exact message In the Dropbox desktop application when you click the icon in the system tray?
-
Is this xlsx file in a private or shared folder? Could you attach a screenshot showing that the file has a star on it in Chrome?
-
Hi @"williamb11", thanks for messaging the Community! Just for clarification, is this an error message on the Dropbox site, or a Windows error? A screenshot showing this information would help greatly!
-
Hi @"jackybe67", thanks for messaging the Community! Just for full clarification, is the external drive the location for your Dropbox folder, or are you backing up the external drive to your Dropbox account using the Dropbox Backup feature? This will help me to assist further!
-
Does the file request work as normal if you access it directly from the Dropbox site and not via another site?
-
Hi @"MichaelErtelPub", could you provide more details about exactly what you're experiencing? Is this for old, or new requests? Are you currently under quota when attempting to use a file request link?
-
Hi @"ssegel", could you try clearing the cache on your browser to see if this helps? Additionally, checking another browser entirely might also help determine if it's related to the browser itself.
-
Hi @"melanie_rollo", currently, there is no information on when or if this will be added to the Dropbox site or app.
-
Hi @"hshupe16", thanks for messaging the Community. Currently, the feature that @"Rich" mentioned is only available for personal plans, and not for Dropbox Business teams. There isn't an official method to do what you're asking, so you'll need to look into other third party services to transfer the files across. If you…

HI @"Leigh19", could you try these options to take a screenshot on your machine?
