Hi @"CelesteJoseph", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Just for clarification, could you check if you instead enabled the computer backup feature on your device? This will help me to assist further!

Hi @"USASF", thanks for messaging the Community. While there isn't a direct method to do so, some third party apps or services might be able to assist you on this matter. I'll leave this thread open for other users to comment their suggestions.

Thanks for the info, in order to look into this matter in more detail, would it be possible to reach out to the email associated with your forum profile?
-
Yes, it seems they're all local except for the Win folder, which contains some local and some online-only files.
-
As the CloudStorage folder is the correct location, deleting the shortcut would only affect that shortcut itself, and not the files it points to.
-
Hi @"Julian G.2", could you attach a screenshot showing the main folders in your account as they appear in Finder, after you right click them to make them available offline, while hiding any personal info?
-
Hi @"rotorglow", as the new version of the app is still being updated on devices gradually, this means that your account and devices have yet to be included in the rollout which is continuing until the end of May 2023.

Were you trying to upload it to Dropbox directly, or another website?
-
Hi @"mrforged", thanks for messaging the Community. With the new version of the Dropbox desktop application for Mac OS, changing the location of your Dropbox folder is no longer supported by the OS itself. It will need to be stored on the CloudStorage folder, and can't be moved to another internal or external drive. If you…

Hi @"Virtus Tenebrae", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Did you receive an email regarding the copyright strike specifically for this file? This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"Sixx", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Could you try installing the latest version of the Dropbox desktop application from this link? Keep me updated with any progress!
-
Hi @"cjsmall", thanks for messaging the Community! Are you referring to a shortcut made to a folder available on your Dropbox account? Currently, there isn't a method to make a shortcut to any specific file on your account. If you have any further queries, feel free to message back.

Hi @"korisnik", thanks for bringing this to our attention. How much free space do you have on your hard drive physically? This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"Piggy75", we appreciate your feedback on this matter. As my colleague @"Walter" stated here, this was removed from the Android version of the app almost a year ago.
-
Hi @"SIRADA", I've sent you an email, please could you reply to it as soon as possible!

What is the exact error message they get when you send the shared link to them? You can determine this yourself by opening the shared link in an incognito/private browsing window when you're not logged into your account.
-
Hi @"ashmtl", when attempting to export, it shows the last folder at the top, but you can tap that to see the folder path above it to the root folder for that SD card or internal storage. Could you attach a screenshot showing what you see when you try to export a test file?
-
Okay, so just to clarify, what happens when you run the app now, is it still trying to start up? Are the files continuing to attempt to sync to the site, or vice versa?
-
Hi @"felicitys", your issue would be different to what other users are referring to. Are you able to see your missing images from the deleted files page? Are you experiencing the behavior that the Photos library is no longer allowed in the Dropbox folder?
-
As I'm not familiar with that app, I'm not sure what I'm looking at. In general, since the migration, there is a shortcut from the old location to the new one, so existing apps could still technically refer to the old location, which redirects it to the new CloudStorage folder. It's possible that your app might not follow…
-
Hi @"dreamerer", could you try these steps to see if they help with the issue?
-
Thanks for the update, and let us know how it goes in the future!
-
Hi @"Editor-br146SIR-Call", if this helped to resolve your issue, then it could indicate that something on your network was preventing the connection to the Dropbox servers. As you changed your location via VPN, it meant that the files were synced via a different network to Dropbox, so the default network settings are…
-
Just to check, are these files available offline on your machine? Do they have green sync icons next to the files?
-
Thanks for the update, keep us notified if you continue to receive these emails.
-
Before we attempt any other troubleshooting, do you have any proxy, VPN, firewall, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains?
-
By large, I meant that it was quite a long file 'physically', which could affect the preview on the site. If you split the PDF into individual pages, does the preview improve on the site?
-
Hi @"CarolLight13", when you entered the details, did it detect a Dropbox account associated with that payment? What message did you get?
-
Hi @"ruralwannabe", thanks for bringing this to our attention. As it sounds like you enabled the computer backup feature, certain folders you selected would have moved into the Dropbox folder. If your Dropbox account runs out of space, nothing will happen to the files on the local computer. However, any changes won't sync…

Hi @"es92", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Just for clarification, have you followed all these steps to create a shared link for them to access the files you've shared? This will help me to assist further!
