As you're not receiving the email via the site, in order to look into this matter in more detail, would it be possible for us to reach out to the email associated with your forum profile?

Hi @"gijo", thanks for bringing this to our attention. You should be able to locate the backup on this page. If you need any further assistance, please let me know!

Thanks for the info, if certain images aren't being uploaded automatically, then you'd need to search for them and manually upload them via the Dropbox mobile app onto your account.

Hi @"ks17", as we're not experiencing similar issues, there should be another factor affecting the browser on your end preventing the app from working. Do you have any proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains?

Hi @"GarrettPrinting", shared folders require users to have a Dropbox account of their own in order to access the files on the folder, and to edit them. There are also shared links, which are read-only and can be accessed from the site. The files would reside on one account, which the user can edit, and the shared link can…

Hi @"MeeshLSU", are there any differences with the older photos and videos? Are they Live Photos on your device?

Hi @"nikitaskouimanis", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Are you experiencing this error on the Dropbox site, or via the mobile app? Is this a shared folder or a private folder? Are you on a stable internet connection? Any other info or screenshots would be helpful!

Could you clarify how you 'copy the links' of files on your desktop? Are you attaching files to emails directly, or trying to create shared links? Any screenshots you can provide would be helpful!

Hi @"David B.157", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Could you try reinstalling the app via this link? I'd also recommend enabling full disk access by following these steps. Keep me updated with any progress!

As The Dropbox folder has moved the app would need to point to the new location, since now that is the place where files will be syncing from now on. The old folder will no longer sync to Dropbox, so the app you're using would have out-of-date files.

Did quitting the Dropbox desktop application make any difference when it comes to editing the tags?

No worries, let me know if you need any further assistance in the future!

Hi @"JS27", as a workaround, could you try Ctrl-Click on the Dropbox icon in the preferences to view the context menu, in order to access Preferences and other options? Do you have any custom zoom or DPI settings for your screen resolution?
-
Hi @"Kimbl", this is on the Dropbox site. You need to change the columns to show Size first, and then you'll get more options to view the size of folders. Additionally, the ellipsis you need to click is not the one at the very top when you're in the folder. You need to navigate to the parent folder see that folder in the…

Hi @"NicoleDominique28", could you check to see that Excel files are configured to be opened with Excel on your machine, and not another app, in the settings?
-
Could you attach a screenshot showing the message you're getting about a backup in progress on the Mac?

Hi @"Leon1452", thanks for bringing this to our attention. As you mentioned you're using Office 2010, which is no longer supported by Microsoft, other users have reported similar issues in this Community. Since the shared link works normally outside of the Office program, this would indicate that the issue doesn't lie with…

Hi @"catstepmum", if those co-editors are going to be using that Transfer link to download the files, they won't be able to access it after it expires. The best option would be to create a shared folder, and invite them to the folder, if they need to edit, delete or add files.

If there is a new backup, then it should be visible there, even if files are still syncing. Have you tried clicking on 'Manage backups' to see if the external drive is detected in the system?
-
Hi @"Bill007", could you try temporarily quitting the Dropbox desktop application and then edit the tag in Explorer? In the 'General' tab in Properties, are the files marked as read-only?
-
Hi @"SMS2022", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Are you copying the links from the Dropbox site, or via the Dropbox desktop application in Explorer/Finder? This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"hcheramie", since your company has restricted the use of browsers, it's likely there are other restrictions in place. Does the company have any proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains? Are you able to upload to Dropbox…

If the sync status shows up as green, then it means it's backed up the drive. If you add, edit or delete files on the external drive, then it would sync those changes to the site. Does this occur for you now?
-
Hi @"Edouardd", could you try navigating directly to the Dropbox folder and not via this alias (as it has a shortcut icon on the folder)? Does the direct location of the Dropbox folder have the necessary context menus?
-
Hi @"matsuli", are you referring to the sync status on the Backups page for that external drive?
