Huge thanks for the replies... Yes local laptop files have been overwritten with older copies from Dropbox. I hadn't noticed that that syncing has stopped working (since Nov!!)... so I have lost a huge amount of work stored on my local files, and didn't realise the "sync" was going the wrong way round while trying to back…
