Hey @"Chambo55", thanks for the post! The best way to set up Dropbox on a new computer is to download the desktop application and allow it to sync your files. If you're on a paid account, you can choose to sync your files as 'online-only' through Smart sync during the installation. That way, the application will sync…

Hey @"paulpeterson", thanks for posting on our Community today! It seems that when you re-synced the Dropbox application, you enabled the computer backup feature. If you don't want these desktop folders to be backed up to Dropbox, you can disable it by following the steps here. Just make sure that syncing is finished…

That's perfect, thanks for keeping me updated. I'm happy to see it's resolved now! If you have any more questions, make sure to let us know. Have a great week ahead!

Hey @"deltastar", thanks for joining us on the Dropbox Community! It seems that during the installation of the Dropbox application, you turned on 'computer backup', which backs up your desktop files to Dropbox. At this point, it would be best to link the computer back to the application and allow it to finish syncing. You…

Hey @"Robin CT", welcome to our Community! At the moment, watermarking is only available for image and PDF files. You can read more about the feature in this article. Let me know if you have any questions!
-
Hey @"thompson001", thanks for posting on our Community! Have you tried installing the new version of the application from this page? If it's still failing, can you let me know what happens exactly? At which point of the installation is it failing? And are you getting any error messages or is it just crashing? Thanks!
-
Hey @"Periannath", thanks for joining our Community! Would you mind describing the process you followed to unsync the files (or computer) in question? Also, can you please clarify what you mean when you say that you deleted the files from the cloud? Did you delete them from the website? Just to clarify, your files need to…
-
Hey @"timq", welcome aboard our Community! Indeed, with computer backup, if you delete your desktop files from Dropbox, they will also be deleted from your computer. If you want to disable the backup feature, you can follow the steps here. You'll find the Dropbox app's preferences, if you click on the Dropbox icon in your…

Hey @"jonhammer6", thanks for posting today! Can I actually reach out to you via email, so we can look into this? Thanks!
-
Hey @"Alina9", welcome to our Community! The sharing bandwidth limitations have more to do with shared links or file requests. When you share a folder with someone, the folder gets added (synced) to their account and does not use any of your daily bandwidth. You can read more about banned links here. Let me know if you…

That's perfect! Happy to hear you figured it out and that all is well. If you have any other questions, make sure to give us a shout. Have a great week ahead!

Hi there @"Raffa_hello", thanks for joining us! Can you please try quitting the app from the Dropbox icon in your menu bar and then relaunching it again from your applications folder, to see if that helps? Keep me posted!
-
Hey @"MacDropper", thanks for reaching out to our Community. You can find a list of our client releases here, however you won't be able to see the changes made on each update. Also, our client gets updated automatically, but we do appreciate the feedback on this. I will make sure your comments are passed along to the…

Hey @"Seph", thanks for reaching out! I'm afraid that the computer backup feature is currently not available to our Linux users. You can always post an idea about this on our idea board for other users to up-vote. Let me know if you have any questions.
-
Correct. 🙂 I just reached out to you, so make sure to check your emails!
-
Hey @"uknead2neaux", sorry to hear you're having this issue. Can I reach out to you via email, so we can look into it? Also, @"jbakervt", are you still having this issue as well?
-
It would appear that the tagging feature is indeed available only to Dropbox Business teams at the moment. So you would have to be a member of the team, to be able to manually add tags to files and folders. If you have any other questions, let me know!
-
Hey @"GWFS", thanks for joining our Community today! Do you mean that you see your files first and your folders under them? And do you perhaps have your files sorted as 'Modified' instead of 'Name'? Do you see your folders if you change that? A screenshot of how your files appear for you, would also be really helpful.…
-
Hey @"Bulldog7", welcome to the Dropbox Community! To be able to put tags on folders/files, you'll need to access those folders or files. To access them, you don't really need to be a member of the Business team. But a team admin will need to invite you to access those folders. If they have the correct settings for sharing…

Can I actually reach out to you via email, so we can investigate on this, Simon?
-
Hey @"Stephen T.8", thanks for commenting! Did you correctly disable the backup feature? You can check the steps to disable it here. If you uninstalled Dropbox before disabling computer backup, you'll need to reinstall it and then disable the feature.
-
Hey @"skol", thanks for your post today! Do you mean that your users' email addresses will change? If your users' Dropbox accounts are associated with email addresses that use the old domain, they'll probably have sign-in issues with Dropbox. If they change their Dropbox addresses, though, to the new email address, with…
-
Hey @"foolio", thanks so much for posting today and happy Friday! Would you mind confirming if the 'add' button or the entire screen is grayed out when you get to that point? Can you share a screenshot with me, so I can check this out? Also, try opening the Dropbox app and use the + icon to upload the photo, to see if that…
-
Absolutely! I just reached out to you, so make sure to check your emails!
-
Thanks for the update, @"kiblets"! Rewind wouldn't undo what happened with the backup feature, but can I reach out to you via email, so we can look into this a bit more closely?
-
No worries, I just reached out to you, so make sure to check your emails!
-
That's perfect, Max, happy to hear that all is well and you got the context menu items back! If you need anything else, make sure to give us a shout. Have a great day!
-
Hey @"kiblets", thanks for the nudge here. Is your Dropbox application still installed on your computer and did you correctly disable computer backup, before trying to move the files back?
-
Hey @"arqandresrisso", thanks for the nudge, can I reach out to you via email as well, so we can look into this? And @"Dr jaswanth", are you still having this issue?
-
Hey @"mecanico", thanks for reaching out today! If you have a Dropbox subscription that you're going to cancel, your files will stay in the account. If however, you mean that you're going to delete your Dropbox account entirely, then your files will be deleted along with it. They won't get downloaded automatically to your…
