Update, now it no longer starts at reboot (it hangs in activity viewer) and I get the error: The application "Dropbox" could not be launched because a miscellaneous error occurred. Contextual menus appear but do nothing when selected (share, send as copy, version history, view on dropbox.com). However, files are apparently…

Same in 12.6.6 on two Macs, one a clean install. No menu, sync and context menu seem to work, but no access to Dropbox app in menu bar.

It is June 2023 and still no update. Promises made, but not kept. So over this ...

Wow @"Michael S.197" what performance! I must apologize for the dissent of myself and others! The audacity! To ask questions! Looking for help? My god, what were we thinking? Thank you for the humiliation and shame. You are so right to go after users like me, personally, who dared to question your conclusions in any way…

@"FGK-120" Interesting, I do not not have an upgrade notification yet and I am in the southeast US. I am in interested in what the notification says about he upgrade. Can you share a screenshot or transcribe the text here? In my case, I can probably live without dropbox on an external drive. What I really, really need is…

I am using the latest version of Dropbox available to me 166.4.2920 on macOS 12.2 and also on macOS 12.6.2 I never enabled the early release. @"nessus42" What is your Dropbox version number and what macOS version(s) are you on? Are you able to relocate the Dropbox folder outside of the macOS Library? My version allows this…

Get included on early releases for new Dropbox features. Early release features are subject to these additional terms. Off by default One needs to turn this on to get the…

Now might be a good time for Dropbox staff to clarify this ongoing confusion. The current stable versions* can install the Dropbox folder to external drives and is not limited to the macOS Library folder in any version of macOS. The current stable versions* can still automatically sync online-only files linked to Adobe…

I was thinking the same. And this method with the old software would still lack the automatic sync of offline files when linked within an Adobe InDesign or Illustrator file. And once the newer version of DB rolls out, this trick will likely explode in your face when the mandatory library location is enforced.

Hey there, all. I too am a deeply disappointed Mac/Adobe/Dropbox user and consultant for a few magazines, printers, agencies, etc. I hate the loss of selective sync files downloading automatically when InDesign calls for offline linked files, and I hate the loss of the ability to move the Dropbox folder outside the Library…
