  • Sometimes Dropbox keeps temporary files in its cache folder, which is hidden. You can press [command] + [shift] + G and go to ~/Dropbox/.dropbox.cache/ See if you find something there. Over time, Dropbox should clear the old cache files.
  • You have to scan the QR code only once when seting up Authy. You can setup the 2FA using a desktop browser before travelling. Next time you need to login, open Authy and copy the 6 digit number and enter in the Dropbox 2FA login prompt. Are you not using the Dropbox app in your iPhone? In that case you don't have to login…
  • You may disable Smart sync altogether to make all files download locally to your hard drive (provided you have enough space to store all your Dropbox content locally). The settings should be found in the Preferencess... > General tab. https://help.dropbox.com/installs-integrations/sync-uploads/smart-sync Alternatively, you…

  • To download all of your Dropbox files go to Dropbox web - https://www.dropbox.com/home You can split the data in few separate folders (so that in case a download fails during long downloads, you don't have to start from the beginning). Then you can download folders one by one. It will download zip of each folder. Each…

  • Hey @"jakryk", When you plug in a particular device, and select Never for this device, Dropbox should remember that device and not prompt again next time. If that does not happen, you may disable the Camera Uploads from your PC. To disable Camera Uploads, go to the settings. Click the Dropbox icon on Windows taskbar tray >…

  • That is strange! Did you try restarting your phone?
  • Is it possible to reinstall the Dropbox app in your phone?
  • Hi @"JemmaY", could it be that somehow the iPhone photos permission is turned off for Dropbox? The settings can be found under iPhone Settings > Privacy > Photos. There you should see Dropbox app in the list, and it should have Read and Write permission. If you are taking photo directly from Dropbox app, you need to turn…
  • Hello @"bmcbath2", there are several ways: * If your photos are organized in folders, you can download those folders by logging into Dropbox web. The limitation of downloading an folder is that the folder must not be larger than 20 GB, and contain less than 10,000 files. If you have larger folder, or more than 10,000 files…
  • Hey @"Djenn", I assume that you have received a read-only shared link of a folder. In that case you should see a Download button on the top right corner of your browser. If you do not see this option, I would sugges you try opening the link on a different browser (even better if you use incognito/private browsing mode with…
  • If you do not want to manually launch Dropbox, you may use task scheduler or another third party app to delay Dropbox startup (or use some other ways like writing a script or finding a registry hack). You may try this method posted here - http://www.yanzzee.com/2014/10/delay-dropbox-startup-in-windows.html
  • Hey @"pierostz", Is BitLocker auto-unlock turned on for the HDD drive (where your Dropbox folder is located)? If the Re-link Dropbox message still appears after turning on BitLocker auto-unlock, there is a lag between your HDD drive mount/BitLoccker unlock and Dropbox startup. In that case, only solution is to disable…

  • I am not sure what types of files you have, and how they are being modified, but I have seen posts where people had problems using Github and Dropbox together. In principle, if a file is not modified, it does not require to be re-indexed/re-uploaded by Dropbox. Note that even if you are not making any changes to those…
  • Hi @"andyyy", Is it possible that those files are being used/modified by another program (including antivirus programs)? If the files are not being modified, Dropbox won't sync them. Can you please check what are those files that are constantly or so often syncing? It sounds like you have put some application or system…

  • @"DanLester" wrote:When I remove the added files, why should it remove the one I didn't add? Dropbox keeps tracks of about 20 files in the recent files list. When you add more that those number of files, the older entries goes away. So when you added the Textedit.app, i.e., 100+ files, the older entries are removed. Now…
  • I am sorry that your issue is not what I thought. I am not sure why the file is in recent item list if the file is no longer available. One way to clear your recent item list would be to add lot of files inside your Dropbox folder, once sync is complete you can delete them. For example, you can go to your…
  • Hi @"DanLester", Is this file belongs to a shared folder or just a single shared file? My method should work in case it is a part of a shared folder. Can you please first locate the file? In your desktop, click over the file in the recent item list, it will open a finder window. Just note where is the file located? Is it…
  • Hey @"DanLester", Currently there is no way to clear the Recent Files list in the desktop app. If you add/edit more files, the old ones will be shifted downward and eventually be removed. There are couple of workaround to get rid of this item. * One thing you can do is that you keep the share folder but do not sync locally…
  • Hey @"Dottie T.2", Once you have shared a parent folder with someone, you won't be able to control the sharing settings for the subfolders seperately. The subfolders inherit the same sharing permissions as the original share folder. You have to create seperate share folders, and share with different set of people.
