Unless things have changed lately (and thats not impossible!), you would want to create a link to a html page that is stored in your dropbox, and that html page has a html redirector instruction.

Ignoring all the above. I think your risking alot storing anything you want to keep in the cloud without a physical backup.

For safety sakes I would suggest you unlink a device that contains all your files, such as your pc. In that way even if they screw it up your files are safe.

If its an adhoc team, then they dont really own your files, its not as rigid a group as a biz team.

Contact www.dropbox.com\support and ask for a rollback to a time when you know the pictures were OK. . But if you dont address first what changed them then it will likely just do it again.

If the web site isnt showing you previews of your pictures, then the files are likely been modified by something, could be a virus or that ransom ware that encrypts all your files.

What device? PC MAC iOS? is this in the web interface or the local device, your not saying much

Thats pretty difficult to say, since normally it will install, you could have changed or damaged any number of settings and caused the problem, or it could be something installed causing the problem. I would suggest setting up another Admin account and seeing if that can install the app, which will tell you if its machine…
